  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Allows three runs in no-decision

Tyler allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against Baltimore. He struck out five.

Tyler was lucky to hold the Orioles to just three runs Tuesday -- he benefited from a pair of Baltimore outs on the basepaths in addition to a key double-play ball in the first inning. Still, it took the 27-year-old Tyler a total of 94 pitches to make it through 4.2 frames. Overall, the right-hander has been a solid stop-gap option in an injury-depleted Marlins' rotation -- Tyler hadn't allowed more than two runs or four hits in any of his four outings prior to Tuesday. He's 0-1 with a 3.92 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 15:10 K:BB across 20.2 innings in the majors this year. Tyler's currently lined up to face the Brewers on the road in his next start this weekend.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Officially summoned

The Marlins recalled Tyler from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday. He'll start Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

As expected, Tyler will join the Marlins' active roster to make his fourth big-league start of the season. While he'll face a tough Orioles lineup, Tyler showed well in some difficult matchups earlier in the season, logging a 3.21 ERA with nine strikeouts across 14 innings in his three starts against Boston, Philadelphia and Seattle.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Tuesday promotion incoming

Tyler will be recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Tyler is set to face a difficult Baltimore lineup in what will be his fifth big-league appearance of the season. He's pitched well when called upon for the big club this season, posting a 3.38 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with a 10:8 K:BB across 16 innings.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Heading back to Triple-A

The Marlins optioned Tyler to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Tyler had made three straight starts with the Marlins, allowing five runs across 15.0 innings with nine strikeouts. However, the 27-year-old will give up his spot on the active roster to Bryan Hoeing (hamstring), who'll be activated from the IL to start Friday's game against the White Sox.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Completes career-high 5.1 frames

Tyler allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 5.1 innings in a no-decision against Boston on Thursday.

He couldn't come close to matching the dominant performance of opposing starter Nick Pivetta, but Tyler was able to keep the Marlins in the contest and was taken off the hook for a loss after Miami posted an eighth-inning rally. Tyler's 5.1 frames were a career high, and he has now given up two or fewer runs in each of his four appearances this season, though he's totaled just 16 frames over those outings. The right-hander has pitched well enough with a 3.38 overall ERA to remain in Miami's rotation for the time being, though it remains to be seen if he'll stick around once the team's staff starts to get healthy.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Solid in loss

Tyler (0-1) took the loss against the Phillies on Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Tyler opened with four scoreless innings but put runners on the corners with no outs in the fifth. He was able to limit the damage to one run and was pulled with one out to go in the frame after 81 pitches, in part because the Phillies were without Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (groin). Tyler has now allowed three total earned runs with a 6:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings in his first two major-league starts. The 27-year-old likely earned another start next week against the Red Sox.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Picking up another start

Tyler is slated to start Friday's game in Philadelphia.

He'll receive a second straight turn through the Miami rotation after he took a no-decision his last time out Sunday against the Mariners, covering four innings and striking out two while giving up two runs on three hits and three walks. With injuries having hit the Miami pitching staff hard, Tyler could be in store for additional starts beyond Friday, even if he continues to underwhelm.

  • Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Tosses four innings

Tyler allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over four innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out two during the win over Seattle.

Tyler made his first career MLB start and first MLB appearance since April 26. He worked three scoreless frames before coughing up a two-run homer to Luke Raley in the fourth inning. Tyler threw just 36 of 65 pitches for strikes. Due to several injuries to Miami's pitching staff, he could draw another start with the big club. As of now, Tyler would currently be lined up to start in Philadelphia.

The Marlins plan to call up Tyler from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Sunday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Tyler's only appearance this season with Miami came April 26, when he allowed one run on one hit across two innings before being designated for assignment. He cleared waivers and remained in the organization as a full-time member of the rotation at Jacksonville, with whom he's accrued a 2.25 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 29:16 K:BB in 40 innings since the beginning of May.

  • Kyle Tyler: Cut by Giants

The Giants released Tyler on Sunday.

After electing free agency in early July, Tyler caught on with the Giants on a minor-league deal and was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento. The Giants evidently didn't see much of a future in the organization for the 25-year-old right-hander, who was cut loose after giving up four earned runs on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings for Sacramento. Tyler could be looking to move on to his fifth organization of the season after he was previously with the Angels, Red Sox and Padres before landing with the Giants.

  • Giants' Kyle Tyler: Inks deal with San Francisco

Tyler signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday.

Tyler has now changed organizations five times this season, but his latest move was on his own accord after he elected free agency earlier this month rather than accepting an outright assignment to the Padres' Triple-A affiliate in El Paso. The 25-year-old right-hander will report to Triple-A Sacramento with his new organization and will hope to earn a call-up to the major-league club at some point in the second half of the season.
