Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Sent back to minors
The Dodgers optioned Wrobleski to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.
Wrobleski struggled as a bulk reliever Saturday against the Astros, permitting five runs (four earned) over 4.2 innings while notching six strikeouts. The lefty had pitched well in June with a 2.73 ERA and 26:6 K:BB over 26.1 frames, but with Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) poised to return later this week, Wrobleski will head to Oklahoma City for now.

Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Struggles behind Ohtani in loss
Wrobleski (4-3) tossed 4.2 innings in bulk relief Saturday, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out six batters to take the loss.
Shohei Ohtani gave the Dodgers two scoreless frames to begin the game, but Wrobleski couldn't hold a 2-0 lead. He gave up four runs in his initial frame, then served up a solo homer in the fourth inning. To Wrobleski's credit, he gave Los Angeles some needed length and retired 12 of the final 14 batters he faced, but the early damage against him was too much for the Dodgers to overcome. It appears Ohtani will continue to build up his workload gradually and slowly, so Wrobleski may continue to work in a bulk role behind the two-way star. If that ends up being the case, both hurlers could next see action against San Francisco next weekend.

Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Victorious in bulk role
Wrobleski (4-2) picked up the win Sunday at Kansas City, allowing three hits and issuing one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.
Wrobleski followed opener Lou Trivino and dominated the Royals over 83 total pitches to secure his third consecutive win as a bulk reliever. The Los Angeles southpaw scattered three singles as the Kansas City bats never threatened to plate a run against him in this contest. Since rejoining the big-league club June 6, Wrobleski has been a reliable pitching option, going 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB across 26.1 frames. The 24-year-old tentatively lines up to make his next appearance, likely in bulk relief again given his recent success, against the Astros at home next weekend.

Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Expected to pitch Sunday in KC
Wrobleski is expected to start or pitch in bulk relief during Sunday's game in Kansas City, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
The Dodgers are holding off naming a starter for the series finale against the Royals, likely because they're planning to use an opener in front of Wrobleski. The southpaw has fared much better in bulk relief than he has as a traditional starter, posting a 1.96 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 19:2 K:BB over 18.1 innings in the former role.

Wrobleski (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven.
Wrobleski followed opener Jack Dreyer, who completed the first inning, and Wrobleski delivered five solid frames. His seven strikeouts marked a season high, and he's added a tally in the win column in back-to-back appearances. In six outings this season, the 24-year-old has a 4.91 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 29.1 innings. Wrobleski has operated as a bulk reliever in three straight appearances, and if he remains on schedule, he'd likely pitch Sunday against Kansas City.

Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Piggybacks into win
Wrobleski (2-2) earned the win over San Diego on Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks while striking out three batters over five innings.
Emmet Sheehan got the start and threw 65 pitches over four frames for Los Angeles, while Wrobleski handled the final five innings. The southpaw cruised through the first four of those frames, holding San Diego scoreless on just one hit. Things got dicey for Wrobleski in the ninth, however, as he gave up three hits and was hurt by a fielding error behind him to allow the Padres to tie the score, but Will Smith's walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame ensured Wrobleski still emerged with the victory. The 24-year-old hurler gave up eight runs over five frames in his season debut April 8, but he's been much better since, posting a 2.79 ERA and 0.93 WHIP across his subsequent four appearances spanning 19.1 innings. It's unclear if Wrobleski will continue to piggyback with Sheehan in the short-term or settle into more of a regular long-relief role.

Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Set to piggyback Sheehan
Wrobleski is expected to pitch multiple innings in relief Wednesday against the Padres behind starter Emmet Sheehan (elbow), Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.
Sheehan will return from the 60-day injured list to make his 2025 Dodgers debut Wednesday, but because he maxed out at 3.1 innings and 63 pitches over his four-start rehab assignment coming off his May 2024 Tommy John surgery, he'll have his workload monitored carefully. With Sheehan unlikely to cover the five innings he would need to qualify for a win, Wrobleski may be the Dodgers pitcher most likely to factor into any decision Wednesday. Wrobleski will be available on four days' rest and should be capable of working as long as the Dodgers need him to after he allowed one earned run and struck out five over 4.1 innings of bulk relief in his most recent appearance for the big club.

Wrobleski struck out five and allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over 4.1 innings out of the bullpen in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Giants.
After he made his second start of the season with the big club in his previous appearance June 6 in St. Louis, Wrobleski was initially listed as the Dodgers' starter for this past Wednesday's game against the Padres. However, the Dodgers ultimately made a late change and had Ben Casparius make a four-inning start, while a slew of relievers finished out the contest. It's unclear what the Dodgers' plans were heading into Friday, but Wrobleski ended up effectively piggybacking starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who racked up 102 pitches over 4.2 innings before giving way to the southpaw. The Dodgers kicked off a stretch of 10 games in 10 days Friday, and with the likelihood that the team expands its rotation to six men during the upcoming week, Wrobleski could soon be in line for another start or bulk-relief appearance.

Wrobleski gave up eight runs in his 2025 debut against the Nationals on April 8, but he has posted a 3.60 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 10 innings across his last two outings. The Dodgers continue to shuffle the back end of their rotation, giving Wrobleski his first chance to start in the majors since May 15. He's had mixed results in two starts, though he completed four shutout innings with a 4:0 K:BB in his last opportunity with Los Angeles on May 15 versus the Athletics. Wrobleski has worked as a traditional starter with Oklahoma City, so he should be able to handle a relatively large workload Friday if he's efficient and effective.
