Mets' Grant Hartwig: Back with Mets as NRI
The Mets signed Hartwig to a minor-league contract Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Hartwig was recently non-tendered by the Mets but winds up remaining in the organization. Slated to turn 27 later this month, Hartwig missed a large portion of the 2024 season due to left meniscus surgery, although he returned late in the year. The righty reliever made 28 appearances for the Mets in 2023, collecting a 4.84 ERA and 30:15 K:BB over 35.1 frames.

Grant Hartwig: Headed to free agency
The Mets non-tendered Hartwig on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Hartwig spent most of 2024 in Triple-A Syracuse, though appeared in four major-league games for the Mets and posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 6.2 innings. He tore the meniscus in his left knee in mid-June, but he was able to return to minor-league action in early August. The 26-year-old will look to sign with a team who will give him a chance to compete for a bullpen spot during spring training.

Mets' Grant Hartwig: Returns to action for Double-A club
Triple-A Syracuse activated Hartwig (knee) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday and assigned him to Double-A Binghamton.
Hartwig had been on the shelf at Triple-A since mid-June with a torn meniscus in his left knee, but after making a full recovery from surgery, he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at Single-A St. Lucie on July 30. After making two appearances, Hartwig was bumped up to Double-A, and he'll likely remain with Binghamton until a spot opens in the Triple-A bullpen. In his first appearance with Binghamton on Tuesday, Hartwig gave up one earned run on two hits and one walk while recording one out.

Mets' Grant Hartwig: Tears meniscus, out 6-8 weeks
Hartwig underwent surgery Friday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will be out six-to-eight weeks, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Hartwig made four appearances for the Mets this season but has spent most of his time at Triple-A Syracuse, where he's logged a 2.31 ERA across 23.1 innings. He'll be sidelined until at least August.
