  • Royals' Rodolfo Duran: Gets minors deal from KC

Duran signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Dec. 15.

Duran spent the entire 2023 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Yankees in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and slashed .252/.329/.444 with eight home runs across 240 plate appearances. The 25-year-old catcher will likely be stationed at Triple-A Omaha to begin the 2024 campaign.

  • Yankees' Rodolfo Duran: Moved to minor-league camp

Duran was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Yankees on Saturday.

Duran was re-signed to a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training back in February. The 24-year-old backstop will all but assuredly begin the season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and he will need to be added to the 40-man roster to receive a promotion in 2023.

  • Yankees' Rodolfo Duran: Back on NRI deal with Yanks

Duran and the Yankees agreed Tuesday to a minor-league contract with an invitation to major-league spring training.

Duran was in the Yankees' system for part of the 2022 season and struggled to a .222 batting average and .680 OPS in 53 games (218 plate appearances) at Double-A Somerset. The soon-to-be 25-year-old catcher will probably be sent back to Double-A or Triple-A to open the 2023 campaign.

Duran (undisclosed) has gone 3-for-14 with a home run, a double, two walks and two RBI in four games since returning from Double-A Somerset's 7-day injured list May 5.

Duran was sidelined for just over three weeks due to the unspecified injury. The 24-year-old is expected to serve as a part-time catcher for Somerset moving forward.

  • Yankees' Rodolfo Duran: Lands on injured list

Duran was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list for an unspecified reason Friday, Matt Kardos of MLB.com reports.

While the nature of Duran's absence isn't yet clear, he'll be forced to miss at least a week. He made two appearances at Double-A Somerset to begin the season, and he went 4-for-8 with a homer, two runs, a walk and three strikeouts.
