Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Crow-Armstrong will be called up from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.
The 22-year-old will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Cody Bellinger (ribs), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. Crow-Armstrong has hit just .203/.241/.392 with a 24:3 K:BB over his first 19 games at Iowa this season, but he could still see ample action in center field in Bellinger's place if manager Craig Counsell wants Crow-Armstrong's plus defense in the lineup. Mike Tauchman is also a candidate to see reps in center field.

Crow-Armstrong (elbow) returned to Triple-A Iowa's lineup Wednesday and has appeared in each of the club's last four games, going 2-for-19 with one stolen base and one run.
After he was removed from a game last Sunday against Toledo with right elbow soreness, Crow-Armstrong sat out Tuesday but was back in action a day later. Though he's ostensibly healthy, the elbow injury may be affecting his timing at the dish, as he's struck out 11 times in 19 at-bats since making his return.

Crow-Armstrong was removed from Triple-A Iowa's game Sunday versus Toledo due to right elbow soreness, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Crow-Amstrong banged up the elbow on a dive in a previous game. The Cubs said he was removed as a precaution, so he's seemingly being viewed as day-to-day. Crow-Armstrong is slashing .265/.306/.529 with one home run and four stolen bases in his first nine contests with Iowa this season.

The re-signing of Cody Bellinger seemed to spell the end of Crow-Armstrong's chances of cracking the Opening Day roster, and he's now officially headed back to Iowa where he will play every day when its season begins. Crow-Armstrong could still have a path to at-bats eventually if the Cubs wind up using Bellinger more at first base, although Mike Tauchman is higher in the center field pecking order right now.
With Cody Bellinger returning to the Cubs, Crow-Armstrong may not have a clear path to MLB playing time in 2024, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Bellinger, who agreed to return to the Cubs by signing a three-year, $80 million contract Sunday, will likely see a lot of playing time in center, which is also Crow-Armstrong's natural position. Veteran Mike Tauchman may be the top option to spell Bellinger when he rests or shifts over to first base, which could push Crow-Armstrong out of the fold. The 22-year-old still has plenty of upside and should get his shot with the Cubs soon enough.
