  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Placed on IL with hip inflammation

The Mariners placed Moore on the 10-day injured list with right hip inflammation. It's another blow to the Mariners' infield depth after Ryan Bliss suffered a torn biceps earlier in April. It's unclear when Moore suffered the injury, but it doesn't sound like a long-term issue. Moore has been one of Seattle's top hitters this season, slashing .286/.346/.557 with six home runs, nine RBI, 16 runs scored and five stolen bases. Leo Rivas and Miles Mastrobuoni are candidates to see more playing time for the Mariners.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Idle Saturday

Moore isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins. Moore will take a seat Saturday after going 4-for-18 with two homers, three RBI and five runs scored over his last five games. His absence will open up the keystone for Miles Mastrobuoni to start while batting eighth.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Slugs fifth homer

Moore went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-3 victory of the Blue Jays. The Seattle utility man drew the start at shortstop and occupied the leadoff spot. Moore popped a 364-foot solo shot off Easton Lucas on the third pitch of the game to give the Mariners the lead. Moore is enjoying a scorching start this season, slashing .316/.371/.596 with five homers, 12 runs scored and seven RBI while going 5-for-9 on steal attempts.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Absent from lineup

Moore is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Toronto. Moore is coming off a monster series against the Reds, having gone 7-for-12 with two home runs and two stolen bases. Despite that, he will begin the series opener versus the Blue Jays on the bench. Miles Mastrobuoni will start at second base and hit seventh for the Mariners.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Knocks two homers

Moore went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's loss to Cincinnati. Moore popped a leadoff homer before adding an RBI single in the second inning. He capped off his day with a two-run shot in the fifth, but unfortunately for Seattle, his four-RBI day was the only offense in the 8-4 loss. Moore's big night boosted his slash line to .306/.375/.639 with four home runs and six RBI through 40 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Idle Saturday

Moore isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers. Moore will step out of the lineup for a second consecutive game after going 0-for-7 with three strikeouts across his last two games. His absence will allow Leo Rivas to start at the keystone and bat eighth.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Swats second homer

Moore went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Giants on Saturday. Moore provided the only run for Seattle on his 411-foot solo shot to center field in the fifth inning. The long ball continued a hot start to the season for the utility man, as he is slashing .400/.500/.800 with two homers, two RBI, three runs and a stolen base through 18 plate appearances. Moore doesn't have a set position or an everyday starting role, but the Mariners have been finding ways to get him into contests consistently. In addition to entering three games as a pinch hitter, Moore has already logged time at first base, second base, third base and DH this season.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Cracks first homer of 2025

Moore went 1-for-1 with two walks and a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Detroit. Moore smacked an 87-mph slider off Tarik Skubal deep to right field for what was ultimately the game-deciding home run. Two of Moore's three starts have come at second base, and his versatility to serve in the infield and outfield should allow him to see at least semi-regular playing time in 2025.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Past illness

Moore (illness) is starting at second base and batting eighth in Friday's game against the Athletics. Moore fell ill towards the tail end of the spring, but he has recovered in advance of Seattle's first series of the year. Moore finished the 2024 regular season with a .201/.320/.367 slash line with 32 stolen bases, 10 home runs and 42 RBI across 441 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Removed from lineup with illness

Moore was scratched from Sunday's spring lineup due to an illness, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. Moore was originally slated to start at third base Sunday, but Miles Mastrobuoni has been moved there in his place. Moore will look to recover in time for Opening Day and is expected to serve in a utility role this season.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Appears ticketed for utility role

Moore could end up serving mostly as a utility player this season as opposed to being an everyday starter, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports. The Mariners have holes to fill in the infield following the offseason departures of Josh Rojas and Justin Turner from Seattle. Jorge Polanco is penciled in as the club's primary third baseman, and a strong spring training by Ryan Bliss has put him in contention to start at second base to open the season. Moore is just 3-for-34 this spring and could be on the outside looking in when it comes to an everyday role, but he should see plenty of action while bouncing all around the diamond in 2025. "I think as a utility player, when there is a spot open or there is availability for a spot, somebody goes down, that is also your job," Moore said. "So if there is a spot open, I always think that I am the guy to go fill that need for however long."

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Sluggish start in spring training

Moore went 0-for-3 in Monday's Cactus League game against Cleveland and is now 0-for-14 during spring training. It's been a sluggish start to the spring for Moore, who is auditioning for the gig as Seattle's primary second baseman in 2025. Jorge Polanco is set to move to third base following the departure of Josh Rojas this past offseason, clearing up plenty of reps at the keystone. Moore has position eligibility in fantasy leagues essentially across the entire diamond and is capable of stealing bases in bunches when given consistent at-bats, so he remains a late-round flier in drafts this spring.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Productive on bases Saturday

Moore went 0-for-3 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and two runs in a win over the Rangers on Saturday. Moore managed to still make an impact during a hitless effort, ringing up his 31st steal of the campaign and scoring on both occasions during which he reached safely. The 32-year-old has hit just .214 over 35 plate appearances in September, but he boasts a .343 on-base percentage in that same span thanks largely to a 14.3 percent walk rate.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Reaches 30 steals Thursday

Moore went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in a win over the Yankees on Thursday. Moore had his most active game offensively since Sept. 4 by getting on base three times, and he added his 30th steal of the campaign. Despite Thursday's busy night, Moore has had an unremarkable month thus far, hitting .250 with two extra-base hits, four RBI, four walks, two stolen bases and two runs across 29 plate appearances over 13 games in September.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Lifts 10th homer Friday

Moore went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Cardinals on Friday. Moore slugged a two-run shot in the sixth inning to extend the Mariners' lead to 3-0, giving him his second straight two-RBI effort. The round tripper also snapped a 31-game homerless drought for Moore, who'd last left the yard July 26. The veteran sports a .701 OPS for the season despite the drag of a .205 average, as he's knocked 36 of his 69 hits for extra bases and sports an 11.0 percent walk rate.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Swipes bag, drives in two

Moore went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's win over Oakland. Moore drove home Luis Urias with a two-out RBI single in the fourth before going on to swipe his 29th bag of the campaign and his sixth over his last 10 games (though he only started in eight of those contests). The utility man would later add a double and a sacrifice fly during a seven-run seventh inning for Seattle, marking his second-straight start in which he logged multiple hits. Moore has also hit safely in four of his last six starts, batting .352 (6-for-17) over those games with three doubles, two RBI and five runs scored.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Returning to bench Sunday

Moore is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels. Moore had started each of the last four games while going 3-for-11 with two doubles and a stolen base, but he'll retreat to the bench while the Angels send right-hander Caden Dana to the hill. The utility man should continue to pick up regular starts against left-handed pitching, but his playing time versus righties may be more sporadic in September.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Productive in Saturday's loss

Moore went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run in a loss to the Angels on Saturday. The veteran slotted in at the keystone and delivered his second double in the last three games as part of his first multi-hit effort since Aug. 9. Moore also recorded his career-high 28th steal following his fourth-inning single, allowing him to close out August with an impressive eight pilfers in 11 attempts across 23 games. Moore's defensive versatility and above-average pop should continue affording him near-everyday playing time during the final month of the regular season.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Moves into short-side platoon role

Moore is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays. Though he initially picked up most of the starts at shortstop after J.P. Crawford (finger) landed on the injured list July 23, Moore has since shifted into more of a utility role. He made both of his last two starts against left-handed pitching while seeing time in left field and at third base, and Moore has been held out of the lineup entirely in four consecutive matchups with right-handed pitchers. The Mariners seem content to roll with Leo Rivas their primary option at shortstop until Crawford is ready to return from the IL.

  • Mariners' Dylan Moore: Goes wild on basepaths Sunday

Moore went 1-for-2 with two walks, three stolen bases and a run in a win over the Giants on Sunday. Moore put together a signature leadoff performance, serving as a consistent irritant for Giants pitchers throughout the afternoon while swiping a career-high three bases. Moore is an impressive 27-for-32 overall in steal attempts this season, and he's now reached safely in four straight games. Sunday marked only his fourth appearance atop the order this season, but given the results, he could conceivably get more run as the leadoff hitter the rest of the way under new manager Dan Wilson.
