  • Bobby Bradley: Cut loose by Cleveland

Bradley was released by the Guardians on Saturday. Bradley was the Guardians' Opening Day first baseman but was designated for assignment at the start of May after grabbing just two hits in eight games. His struggles continued at the Triple-A level, where he hit .174/.268/.359 with a 37.4 percent strikeout rate in 47 games. The 26-year-old has plenty of power, as evidenced by his 14.8 percent barrel rate in 97 big-league contests, but his 37.1 percent career strikeout rate leaves him well short of being a major-league regular.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: Outrighted to Triple-A

Bradley was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday. Bradley was designated for assignment by the Guardians on Sunday but will remain in the organization. He appeared in just eight major-league games to begin the season, but he'll presumably see more playing time in Columbus.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: DFA'd by Guardians

Bradley was designated for assignment by the Guardians on Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports. Bradley saw sporadic playing time with the major-league club this year and hit .118 with a run and nine strikeouts over eight games. The 25-year-old is out of options, so he'll be cast off the 40-man roster prior to Monday's cutdown deadline. If Bradley isn't claimed on waivers, he'll likely head to Triple-A Columbus.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: Not seizing playing time

Bradley, who is not in Saturday's lineup against the Yankees, is hitting .067 with eight strikeouts in 15 plate appearances. It's not that surprising to see Bradley on the bench against lefty Nestor Cortes, but he clearly hasn't seized any extra playing time, even with Owen Miller on the COVID-19 injured list. Bradley is out of minor-league options, so the Guardians will keep carrying him as a lefty slugger in the short term.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: Appears to lose hold of 1B job

Bradley is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds. The lefty-hitting Bradley will sit for the third straight game, with his most recent two absences coming with the opposition bringing right-handed starting pitchers to the hill. Bradley initially appeared set to open the season in a strong-side platoon role at first base, but manager Terry Francona has seemingly settled on Owen Miller as the preferred option versus both left- and right-handed pitching for the time being.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: Remains out of lineup

Bradley is out of the lineup again for Monday's series finale against the Royals. For the second straight day, Bradley is absent from the Guardians' starting lineup. The 25-year-old has started the season 0-for-4, but it's hard to read into it that much considering the small sample size. Manager Terry Francona has decided to go with Owen Miller at first base again Monday and he will bat sixth.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: Takes seat Sunday

Bradley is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at Kansas City. Bradley is 0-for-4 across the first two games of the season and will head to the bench with southpaw Kris Bubic pitching for the Royals. Owen Miller will start at first base for Cleveland on Sunday.

  • Guardians' Bobby Bradley: Seeing starting reps at first base

Bradley is 5-for-25 (.200) with a double, two runs scored and seven strikeouts through nine Cactus League games. That's not great for the Guardians' presumed starting first baseman. Bradley is expected to work at least in a platoon role -- with Yu Chang (second base) and Josh Naylor (right field) solidifying their own starting roles, Bradley figures to share first base with Owen Miller. Last season, Bradley slashed a mediocre .208/.294/.445 with 16 home runs, 41 RBI and 36 runs scored. He also posted a .237 ISO and a 35.5 percent strikeout rate, so it's often boom or bust with the power-hitting 25-year-old.

Bradley's power hasn't been in doubt this year with 16 homers and a .450 slugging percentage in 276 plate appearances. He's also struck out at a 35.1 percent clip, and that's ticked up to a 40.5 percent rate in his last 10 games.
