Brewers' Jake Bauers: Three-hit effort in win
Bauers went 3-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning win over the Marlins.
Bauers was a thorn in the Marlins' side all game, reaching base four times and notching his third steal of the season. It marked the first three-hit effort of the season for the 30-year-old, who's now slashing .254/.333/.525 with five homers, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored across 66 plate appearances. While he may sit against most lefties, Bauers should continue to see plenty of opportunities with injuries piling up for the Brewers.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Exiting lineup vs. lefty
Bauers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays.
With southpaw Patrick Corbin on the hill for Toronto, the left-handed-hitting Bauers will head to the bench, marking the fifth time in six matchups with lefties this season that he's exited the lineup. Luis Rengifo will join the lineup for the series finale as a replacement for Bauers in what will be the former's first career start at first base.

Bauers was responsible for the first runs of Tuesday's game after belting a three-run homer off Kevin Gausman in the fourth inning. Bauers has gone long in three of his last four outings and is up to five homers on the season, which is tied for fifth most in the National League. He has gone 5-for-13 (.385) with seven RBI and three runs scored over his last four games.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Hits fourth homer
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Nationals.
Bauers has had multiple hits in four of the 14 contests he's appeared in this season, including one Friday against the Nationals. All four of those games featured a home run from the 30-year-old, and Sunday was no different. He was one of three members of the Brewers to take Zack Littell deep, all of the solo variety. With Sunday's performance, Bauers is slashing .239/.300/.522 for the year with 10 RBI in 14 games played.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Provides only offense in loss
Bauers went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Nationals.
The Brewers recorded four hits as a team, so Bauers had half of those and reached base three times. After Milwaukee fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first, Bauers answered with a three-run shot in the bottom half of the inning. He later walked in the third and singled in the sixth. Bauers is slashing .225/.295/.475 with three home runs, nine RBI, eight runs scored, two stolen bases and a 4:10 BB:K across 44 plate appearances this season.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Goes deep in win
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a steal and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-2 win versus the Rays.
The 30-year-old got the start Tuesday even though Tampa Bay sent out a southpaw in Shane McClanahan, against whom the lefty-hitting Bauers went 0-for-2. The first baseman got back on track once the Rays turned to the bullpen, however, as he reached on an infield single, stole second and scored in the sixth inning before launching a solo homer in the eighth. With Andrew Vaughn (wrist) expected to be sidelined until mid-May after undergoing hamate bone surgery, Bauers should be a lineup regular for the time being, especially if he can build upon his hot start to 2026.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Sitting against southpaw
Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Bauers went 3-for-10 with a home run, three RBI and two additional runs through the Brewers' first two contests of the season, but he'll hit the bench Sunday against southpaw Anthony Kay. Especially while Andrew Vaughn (hand) and Jackson Chourio (hand) are on the shelf, Bauers should have a clear runway to regular playing time against right-handed pitching.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Launches three-run homer
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 14-2 win against the White Sox.
After earning the Opening Day nod due to Jackson Chourio's fractured hand, Bauers continued his strong run at the plate, ripping a three-run homer in the seventh inning. The 30-year-old carried over his red-hot spring, during which he batted 16-for-34 (.471) with five doubles, six home runs and a 1.728 OPS. Bauers should see regular starts for at least the next 2-to-4 weeks with Chourio on the IL.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Settles with Brewers
The Brewers and Bauers avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday.
Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the deal is for $2.7 million. Bauers re-signed with the Brewers on a minor-league deal last offseason before slashing .235/.353/.399 with seven home runs over 85 regular-season contests. The left-handed-hitting Bauers should see semi-regular reps between first base, left field and designated hitter against right-handed pitching in 2026.

Bauers will start in left field and bat eighth in Thursday's NLCS Game 3 versus the Dodgers.
Bauers drew the start in left field in Game 2 and went 0-for-3 at the dish, but he'll get another opportunity in Game 3 as the series moves to Los Angeles. The 30-year-old Bauers was one of the Brewers' best hitters down the stretch of the regular season, slashing .360/.458/.560 with a pair of home runs in September. Brewers' Jake Bauers: Yielding to Vaughn at first base
Bauers is not in the lineup for Monday's game in San Diego.
Bauers had a recent stretch with four straight starts at first base, but he'll yield the position to Andrew Vaughn on Monday for the fifth time across the last seven tilts. The 29-year-old Bauers did draw one start in left field during the latter stretch, but he looks to have fallen back behind Vaughn on the first-base depth chart.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Reaches base four times
Bauers went 3-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Cardinals.
Bauers logged his first multi-hit effort since Sept. 7 versus the Pirates. The first baseman looked to be gaining playing time early in the week, but this was just his third start in the last five games as Andrew Vaughn has reclaimed a share of the action at first base. Bauers is batting .405 (15-for-37) over 14 games this month and is up to a .235/.345/.400 slash line with seven home runs, eight steals, 27 RBI and 27 runs scored across 200 plate appearances this season.

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Gaining foothold in lineup
Bauers will start at first base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Bauers will stick in the lineup for the fourth straight game, with all of those starts coming against right-handed pitchers. Though his playing time could tail off once his bat begins to cool, Bauers appears to have at least temporarily emerged as the Brewers' preferred option at first base over both Andrew Vaughn and Rhys Hoskins while he's produced a .393/.452/.679 slash line to go with two home runs and two stolen bases through 11 games in September.
