Tigers' Eduardo Rodriguez: Could miss six-plus weeks
Rodriguez, who is on the 15-day injured list with a a ruptured A4 pulley in his left index finger, could be facing a six-to-eight week absence, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Stavenhagen spoke with Dr. David Hay, an orthopedic hand and wrist surgeon, about the rare injury and Hay's estimation was that Rodriguez could need 10-to-14 days of serious rest, followed by two-to-four weeks of light recovery, usually with a taped finger, and on the whole it could be six-to-eight weeks before he is throwing at high intensity. Hay noted that without seeing Rodriguez's MRI, the timeline could vary, although Stavenhagen cited similar injuries to Adam Wainwright in 2008 and Randy Dobnak in 2021 that both resulted in 10-week absences.

Detroit placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left index finger pulley rupture, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Rodriguez threw 100 pitches over six innings of one-run ball against the White Sox on Sunday without any hint of a physical issue, so the news seems to come out of nowhere. He will be sidelined for at least a couple weeks and the Tigers haven't revealed who will replace him in the rotation. Rodriguez boasts a 2.13 ERA across 11 starts this season.

Rodriguez allowed one run on five hits across six innings and did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 10-inning win over the White Sox. He walked two and struck out six.
Rodriguez pitched well and left the game in line for the win with the Tigers up 4-1, but the White Sox scored four times in the seventh inning to saddle him with a no-decision. The lefty still took a step forward after allowing six earned runs across 10 total innings in his last two starts. For the second straight outing, Rodriguez allowed four total runs over five innings, and he took the loss in both contests. The lefty still has been good overall with a 2.19 ERA and 61 strikeouts across 61.2 innings, though he looks to be coming back to the pack a bit after a dominant stretch between mid-April and mid-May. Rodriguez is slated to take the mound again this weekend against the White Sox and will look to regain his sharper form.

Rodriguez (4-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out five.
Rodriguez matched a season high with four runs allowed Wednesday after he'd allowed just two runs over his previous six starts (41.2 innings). The 30-year-old left-hander still sports a sparkling 2.06 ERA with a 0.86 WHIP and 52:12 K:BB through 56.2 innings this season. Rodriguez will look to get back on track in his next outing, tentatively scheduled for next week in Kansas City.
