Javier Vazquez is considering a return to MLB, according to MLB Network's Peter Gammons.

Vazquez will pitch in the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball League after Thanksgiving. He also plans to pitch for Puerto Rico during the World Baseball Classic. He will use those experiences to determine whether he wants to return to MLB.

The 36-year-old pitcher last pitched in the majors for the Marlins in 2011. That season, Vazquez posted a 3.69 ERA and a 3.57 FIP in 192 2/3 innings. He drew interest on the market last winter but ultimately decided to step away from the game. Reports in April claimed that Vazquez had not retired but wasn’t considering a comeback.
