The Mets have lost six games in a row -- all five since the All-Star break -- and eight of their last 10, but they won't be sellers at the deadline, and they won't overpay in any deal if they're buying, wrote ESPN's Adam Rubin.

  • Mets assistant GM John Ricco said there's no trade available right now that doesn't compromise their future. 
  • The Mets don't want to make another Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano type deal. 
  • Rubin notes that GM Sandy Alderson is only willing to part with Class A prospects right now, rather than prospects who could potentially make an impact with the Mets in 2013 or 2014.
