Mets interested in Colorado's Ramon Hernandez, Matt Reynolds

The Mets and Rockies are talking trade, according to sources.

The New York Mets are interested in acquiring veteran catcher Ramon Hernandez from the Colorado Rockies, reports ESPN's Adam Rubin. 

• The Mets are also interested in left-handed reliever Matt Reynolds.
• Reynolds sports a 3.38 ERA in in 39 games out of the Rockies' bullpen. He has 35 strikeouts in 37.1 innings. 
• Hernandez, in his first season with the Rockies, is on a rehab assignment, working his way back from a hand injury. In 27 games this season, he's batting .215/.260/.398. 
• The Rockies have shown interest in New York's Justin Turner in the past, who has a.681 OPS in 95 at-bats this season. 
• Mets prospects who could be going Colorado's way: shortstop Wilfredo Tovar, hitting .306/.358.408 in Double-A; Class A right-handed pitcher Domingo Tapia, who has 48 strikeouts in 54.2 innings; center fielder Matt Den Dekker in Triple-A; and pitcher Josh Edgin in Triple-A. 
• If the Mets can't trade for Hernandez, who is scheduled to earn $3.2 million next season, they will target Red Sox catcher Kelly Shoppach or the Mariners' Miguel Olivo, reports the New York Post's Joel Sherman.
