Coyotes' Craig Cunningham: Will switch over to scouting
Cunningham (undisclosed) will join the Coyotes as a pro scout, wrapping up his professional playing career.
Cunningham suffered a medical emergency prior to an AHL Roadrunners' game back in November and will now step off the ice and into the scouting room. Over the course of his career, the winger appeared in 63 NHL contests for Boston and Arizona, tallying three goals and five helpers. A product of the WHL, the 26-year-old was selected in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Bruins and spent four years in their organization before moving on to the 'Yotes.

Cunningham suffered a medical emergency prior to the start of the Tucson Roadrunners' game Saturday night.
Cunningham was taken to an area hospital where he is receiving medical treatment. The winger had 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 11 games for Tucson heading into Saturday's game.

Coyotes' Craig Cunningham: Inks one-year extension
Cunningham signed a one-year contract extension with the Coyotes on Thursday, TSN reports.
Cunningham was a popular call-up option for the Coyotes in 2015-16. The 25-year-old is at that tough stage where he holds his own in the minor leagues, but isn't quite ready for a full-time role in the NHL. Last season, he recorded 22 goals, 24 assists and 20 PIM with AHL Springfield, though he only managed one assist in 10 games with Arizona.

Cunningham was placed on waivers and ended up clearing Wednesday. Cunningham was called up from the AHL on Monday and logged 11:08 of ice time against the Penguins. He was then placed on waivers Tuesday. Unclaimed, he returned to Arizona and was skating on a line with Viktor Tikhonov and Boyd Gordon during Wednesday's practice. It's unclear at this point whether he'll stay with the big club or get sent back to the AHL. The 25-year-old winger has one assist in 10 games with the Coyotes this season.

Cunningham was called up for Monday's road game against the Penguins, recording two shots on goal in just over 11 minutes of ice time.
