Landon Ferraro: Released from tryout
The Canucks released Ferraro from his professional tryout agreement Saturday.
The veteran forward was always considered a longshot to land a spot on Vancouver's 23-man roster, so this news doesn't come as a surprise. Ferraro hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since 2017-18 and will likely have to settle for a two-way deal if he wants to remain in North America for the 2019-20 campaign.

Canucks' Landon Ferraro: Secures PTO with Vancouver
Ferraro will attend the Canucks' training camp on a professional tryout agreement, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
Ferraro hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since 2017, when he notched one goal in two games with Minnesota, so his odds of securing a spot on Vancouver's Opening Night roster should be considered slim at best.

Wild's Landon Ferraro: Reassigned to AHL
Ferraro (hip) was sent down to AHL Iowa on Saturday.
Even though the 26-year-old was close to finally returning to the ice after his hip injury has kept him out of the last six games, he'll head down to the minors. Ferraro showed he can chip in skating in a bottom-six role with Boston last season by posting 10 points in 58 games for Boston, and he can be recalled at any time. It's just unlikely Ferraro emerges as a serviceable fantasy asset in many settings this year.

Wild's Landon Ferraro: Doubtful for Saturday
Ferraro (hip) will be an injured scratch for Saturday's matchup against Chicago.
Although the winger has been making progress towards returning, it looks like he still needs a couple days of rest before taking the ice. Minnesota would gladly welcome Ferraro back as soon as possible with their banged up forward core, and he'll have his next shot to come back Monday against Boston.

Ferraro (hip) is "getting better," according to Wild coach Bruce Boudreau.
This would seem to indicate that Ferraro won't be playing in Thursday's home game against the Canadiens, albeit with a shot at tagging into Saturday's home clash with the Blackhawks. Either way, the B.C. native doesn't play enough even when healthy to warrant fantasy consideration -- he's seen no more than 11:59 of average ice time since entering the league with Detroit in 2013-14.

Ferraro (hip) will be sidelined for at least a week, Michael Russo of TheAthletic.com reports.
Ferraro was previously reported as being a healthy scratch Tuesday, so it's unclear whether he aggravated the same injury. Given the timeline established by general manager Chuck Fletcher, the winger won't be available until Nov. 2 against the Canadiens, at the earliest. Don't be surprised to see the Wild place Ferraro on injured reserve in order to call a player up from AHL Iowa.

Wild's Landon Ferraro: Suffers hip flexor ailment
Ferraro sustained a hip flexor injury in Friday night's eventual 4-3 road loss to the Jets.
The lanky pivot totaled a mere 3:30 of ice time before coming up lame, and this is particularly unfortunate since he's barely been able to draw into live action when healthy. In fact, his only other appearance this season took place six days ago against the Blue Jackets, when he only took nine shifts but lit the lamp on two shots. View him as day-to-day until the Wild can check him out closer.

Despite tallying a goal in just 5:20 of ice time during Saturday's loss to Columbus, Ferraro was deemed surplus to requirements. That said, it's likely that Ferraro was sent to the minors to provide Minnesota salary cap relief for the period until they play their next game, which is Friday in Winnipeg.

Ferraro was waived on Wednesday.
Ferraro signed a two-year, two-way deal with Minnesota in the summer, and after being waived, he seems set to begin his seventh professional season in the minors. The 2009 second-round pick has just 11 points under his belt over 75 NHL games, but he's a great skater who contributes in his own end. Even if Ferraro should find himself with Minnesota at any point this season, he'll carry little fantasy value.

Ferraro signed a two-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Saturday.
After suffering an ACL injury in December while playing for AHL Chicago, Ferraro was sidelined for the season. The 25-year-old forward posted 15 points in 22 minor-league games before his injury. Ferraro doesn't have much NHL experience, having only one season with more than 10 big-league games -- that was the 2015-16 season, when he played 58 games and recorded 10 points. He'll have to prove himself in the preseason, and if he is unable to, he'll have a spot on the AHL's Iowa Wild.

Ferraro (knee) is back to 100 percent and garnering interest from a handful of NHL clubs, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
Ferraro was injured while playing in the minors, where he logged 22 outings prior to getting hurt. If not for this ailment, one has to imagine the 25-year-old would have gotten a call-up or two during the 2016-17 campaign. With his foreign contract completed, the former second-round pick will be looking to secure a regular role and get back to playing in the NHL.

Ferraro hasn't played for AHL Chicago since Dec. 1 due to an ACL injury and is done for the season, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Ferraro, who has 75 games of NHL experience, can be crossed off the list of potential callups should the Blues need reinforcements at center with Paul Stastny dealing with an upper-body injury. Ferraro's season ends with 15 points in 22 games for the Wolves.

Ferraro was cut by the Red Wings in November after just 10 games, but the Bruins ended up claiming him off waivers and he spent the rest of the season in Boston. In 58 games with the Bruins, he posted five goals and five assists, but was never really able to move his way up the depth chart, seeing most of his time as a fourth-liner. The Bruins felt they were better off without Ferraro, so he'll head to unrestricted free agency, which opens Jul. 1.

Ferraro scored his fifth goal of the year Tuesday in a 2-1 win over Calgary.
Since coming over to the Bruins as a waiver claim, Ferraro's largely slotted in as a fourth-liner, collecting 10 points in 41 games. However, for what it's worth (which isn't a lot), three of those points have come in the last four games. The 24-year-old has some offensive skills, but doesn't seem likely to develop into anything more than a solid bottom-six grinder.
