  • Jack Skille: Released from PTO

Skille was released from his professional tryout offer by the Senators, Brent Wallace of TSN.ca reports.

Skille's days in the NHL are numbered considering he spent last season with Dinamo Minsk of the KHL. He still has time to find a depth role with another team, but don't expect the 2005 first-round pick to make a fantasy impact.

  • Jack Skille: Lands PTO with Senators

Skille will attend Ottawa's training camp on a professional tryout offer.

Skille spent last season overseas playing for Dinamo Minsk of the KHL, notching 11 goals and 25 points in 41 contests. The seventh overall pick from the 2005 draft last saw action in the NHL in 2016-17, totaling just five goals and nine points in 55 appearances with Vancouver. Even if he's able to secure a spot on the Senators' Opening Night roster, Skille likely won't make a significant contribution this season, so he can safely be ignored in all fantasy formats.

  • Jack Skille: Heading to KHL

Skille agreed to terms on a deal with Dynamo Minsk of the KHL on Thursday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.

Skille logged 55 appearances for Vancouver last year, totaling five goals and four helpers. When he was in the lineup, the winger averaged a paltry 8:48 of ice time, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that NHL clubs were hesitant to sign him. If the 30-year-old can impress in Russia, an eventual return to North America as a bottom-six role player is certainly not out of the question.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Will miss third straight game Sunday

Skille (ankle) is not in the lineup for Sunday's home game against San Jose.

Skille misses his fourth contest in a row and remains without a timetable for return at the moment. He had two points in the three games he played between injuries, but he's probably not worthy of consideration in the majority of fantasy formats.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Out Friday versus Los Angeles

Skille (ankle) is out of commission for Friday's game against the Kings.

Skille has only averaged 8:48 per game in ice time, so this won't have a huge impact on Vancouver's lineup. Also, considering he's notched only five goals and four assists in 55 games, it probably won't have much of an impact on your fantasy team as well.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Ankle in bad shape

Skille's injured ankle was significantly swollen and he was seen walking around on crutches Tuesday, Jay Janower of Global BC reports.

The status of Skille's ankle would seem to indicate that he won't suit up for Tuesday night's game, and he very well could be out for longer. With an astounding eight Vancouver forwards dealing with injuries of varying severity, defenseman Alex Biega could continue drawing into the lineup as a forward.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Ruled out Sunday

Skille (ankle) will not suit up for Sunday's road contest against the Jets.

Skille had just returned three games prior from a groin injury that kept him out 12 games and will now have to sit again after sustaining this ankle ailment. In those three games, Skille posted a goal, an assist, and a plus-3 rating, so the injury is unfortunately timed to kill the young forward's momentum.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Injures ankle in matinee

Skille sustained an ankle injury in Saturday's matinee contest against the Wild and will not return.

Skille was trying to control the puck along the side boards when Charlie Coyle plastered him with a hard check and then the two forwards appeared to get tangled up a bit. Hopefully for Skille -- a former Wisconsin Badger -- the injury doesn't turn out to be a serious issue, especially with the Canucks going right back to work in Winnipeg on Sunday.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Ready to return Tuesday

Skille will return to Vancouver's lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blackhawks.

Skille has missed the Canucks' last 12 games while recovering from a groin injury, so he'll likely be eased back into action against the Blackhawks. However, the 29-year-old winger has already fulfilled an extremely minor role for Vancouver this season, as he's only notched seven points while averaging just 8:41 of ice time over 52 games. The American winger's limited role and meager offensive production keep him from being a viable fantasy option.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Will join team for road trip

Skille (groin) will travel with the team for its upcoming four-game road trip.

Skille, who has already missed the Canucks' last 12 contests, appears to be taking steps in the right direction, but remains on injured reserve. Prior to getting hurt, the Wisconsin native was bogged down in an 18-game pointless streak with no end in sight. Until he can contribute more consistently, the winger will remain a low-end fantasy option.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: May travel with team

Skille (groin) could join the team for a road trip to Edmonton ahead of Saturday's contest.

The former Wisconsin Badger will miss his 11th consecutive game Thursday night, when the Canucks host the Stars, but the fact that he's traveling with the team could signal that a return is near. Either way, he's not an attractive fantasy option as the owner of just seven points and a minus-3 rating over 52 games.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Placed on IR

Skille (groin) has an 'injured reserve' label on the NHL's official media site.

While it's unfortunate to see any player get injured, the silver lining is that this news isn't likely to affect very many fantasy owners. After all, Skille has averaged a paltry 8:41 of ice time over 52 games this season.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Won't play Sunday

Skille (groin) will not play in Sunday's game against the Flyers, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.

Skille exited Saturday's game early due to the groin issue, but his absence from Sunday's contest shouldn't have a large overall impact from a fantasy perspective. Reid Boucher will slot back into the lineup Sunday in his place, but he's tallied just three points over 18 games with three different clubs this season and is averaging just 8:10 of ice time since joining the Canucks. Skille will get the bye week to rest up, with his next chance to return arriving Saturday against the Sharks.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Leaves with strained groin

Skille suffered a strained groin in Saturday's game against the Flames.

Skille hasn't done much when healthy, so this won't impact fantasy owners much if the veteran is forced to miss time. Jayson Megna might see more ice time if Skille is forced to miss time.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Failing to make impact in limited minutes

Skille hasn't appeared on the scoresheet in over a month.

The 29-year-old is struggling to make an offensive impact in limited minutes, managing just seven points in 45 games. He's scored four times. but his last goal came at the end of December, so he really doesn't hold much fantasy value. Skille is skating on Vancouver's fourth line and has never surpassed 17 points in his career, so he isn't worth holding onto in fantasy.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Ends season-long slump with first two goals

Skille scored his first two goals of the season in Thursday's 5-1 win over Tampa Bay.

He managed all of one point in his first 19 games, so if you weren't looking to Skille for fantasy production Thursday, that makes you just like everyone else. With a career high of 19 points on his resume and a fourth-line assignment, Skille can't be counted on to replicate this performance.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Back in action Friday

Skille (upper body) will return to the lineup for Friday night's road contest in Dallas, Jon Abbott of TSN 1040 reports.

With Sven Baertschi (foot) effectively ruled out for Friday's game, the Canucks had to be hoping that Skille would be ready and it appears as though he will be. The 29-year-old Wisconsinite averages only 9:59 of ice time per game, but may need to step up in the wake of the aforementioned injury to Baertschi.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Unavailable Wednesday due to upper-body ailment

Skille (upper body) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's road matchup with the Coyotes.

It's unclear when Skille sustained the ailment, but the 29-year-old will miss his seventh contest of the season. Joseph LaBate, who was called up earlier this week, is expected to make his NHL debut in Skille's place Wednesday.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Playing Sunday in Anaheim

Skille is in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Ducks.

This will be only Skille's third appearance of the year and he'll likely patrol the Canucks' fourth line. He doesn't have any meaningful stats besides three shots on goal this season, she don't look at him to produce much more Sunday.

  • Canucks' Jack Skille: Signs with Canucks

Skille signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Canucks on Thursday.

The deal is worth $700,000. Skille will likely start off on Vancouver's fourth line and could generate similar numbers to his 2015-16 totals which were by no means spectacular. Don't count on him to produce until he starts seeing significant ice time.
