Trent Richardson: Available to sign NFL contract
The AAF announced Thursday that all players, including Richardson, are immediately authorized to sign with NFL teams.
Richardson led the league with 11 rushing touchdowns over eight games and didn't go a single week without reaching the painted area. While his struggles with efficiency continued -- Richardson ultimately averaged just 2.9 yards on his 125 carries -- the 2012 NFL first-rounder finished the season on a high note with an 18-carry, 83-yard performance (4.8 YPC) on March 25 against the Atlanta Legends. It's hard to gauge how much interest he may draw from NFL teams now that the AAF has disbanded, but it at least seems possible Richardson could be invited to attend training camp somewhere.

Trent Richardson: Still scoring TDs in AAF
Richardson has 91 carries for 227 yards (2.5 average) and nine touchdowns in six games for the Birmingham Iron of the AAF, adding 26 receptions for 186 yards (7.2 average) and another score.
Richardson leads the upstart league in both carries and touchdowns and also ranks fourth in catches, yet he's producing just 68.8 scrimmage yards per game. His strong work at the goal line might attract some interest from NFL teams, but the ugly mark of 2.5 YPC doesn't exactly beg for the 2012 first-round pick to be viewed as anything more than a camp body this summer.

Trent Richardson: Finding end zone in AAF
Richardson has taken 42 carries for 99 yards and three touchdowns in two games with the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football.
Richardson leads the league in carries and rushing TDs, but his mark of 2.4 YPC is the worst among all players with double-digit opportunities. It's only fair to note that the goal-line chances weigh down his average, and he does have seven receptions for 64 yards. The 2012 first-round pick still has more work to do before NFL teams can view him as a serious option to compete for a 2019 roster spot.
