The Vikings are hurting in the secondary, but S Mistral Raymond’s return is good news at a good time heading into Sunday’s game against Seattle. (US Presswire)

The Vikings secondary is in a bit of flux for the Seahawks game on Sunday. Starting CB Chris Cook is out with a broken arm but S Mistral Raymond has returned from a bone bruise in his ankle.

Their injuries will force Leslie Frazier to make some personnel decisions.

Regarding the starting cornerback position, Frazier has been looking at rookie Josh Robinson and veteran A.J. Jefferson all week. On Friday, he was no closer to announcing who would get the start on Sunday.

“Probably, right around -- what time do we play? That’s probably when we’ll announce that" Frazier said. "Right around that time of the day."

Frazier said he knew would who was going to get the start, but he was withholding the name until he had to announce it for strategic purposes.

As far as the safety position is concerned, Frazier said Raymond will play some, but it will be a matter of the game situation as to how much and when. Raymond's game-condition is one concern for Frazier.

“He’s making progress,” said Frazier. “He did some good things but you can tell that he needs some time as far as being able to start or not start. Physically he’s doing much better. He’s gone through the week pretty good. We’ll make a decision here pretty soon on what we want to do with him, but [we’re] encouraged by his progress this week.”

Frazier said that S Jamarca Sanford has played very well in Raymond’s absence. He said when Raymond is ready to go full-time, they will decide then whether or not they want to rotate both players.

Injury notes: TE John Carlson was watching practice on Friday, but he still hasn’t passed the concussion protocol. Frazier said he would be out for Sunday’s game.

Raymond has been listed as questionable for the game. The following players are all listed as probable for the Seahawks game in Seattle: CB Antoine Winfield (knee), WR Percy Harvin (hamstring), RB Adrian Peterson (ankle), DL Fred Evans (knee), DT Letroy Guion (ribs), LB Erin Henderson (elbow), P Chris Kluwe (left knee), and QB Christian Ponder (knee).
