Eagles safety Keelan Johnson was arrested last Friday morning and charged with assaulting a police officer after an incident outside a Tempe, Ariz., bar, according to KTAR in Phoenix.

The 24-year-old Johnson, who was undrafted out of Arizona State and played two games last season in Philadelphia, was in front of Zuma Grill about 2 a.m. when his acquaintance was involved in a physical incident. That acquaintance was detained by police while Johnson allegedly shouted over the officers.

Johnson was told to step back multiple times and was given a "directional contact" to the chest. Johnson then allegedly shoved an officer. A brief scuffle followed, in which Johnson refused to lower his arms for arrest.

Johnson waived his Miranda rights and informed police he shoved the officer because he felt the officer didn't have a right to order him around and physically attempt to move him.

Along with allegedly assaulting a police officer, Johnson also was charged with passively resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

After he was promoted from the practice squad late last season, Johnson recorded one tackle in those two games.
