Commanders vs. Giants Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Commanders vs. Giants football game
3rd Quarter Report
Fortunes may be turning around for the Giants after losing three in a row. It's still anybody's game after three quarters, but they are currently ahead of the Commanders 14-12. The Giants took a bit hit to their ego last Sunday, so a win here would be a pleasant pick-me-up.
If the Giants keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 2-8 in no time. On the other hand, the Commanders will have to make due with a 4-6 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
Considering their sizable disadvantage in the spread, the Giants can expect to have a real challenge on their hands on Sunday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Washington Commanders at 1:00 p.m. ET at FedEx Field. The Giants are hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
New York gave up the first points and the most points on Sunday. They took a serious blow against the Cowboys, falling 49-17. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for New York in their matchups with Dallas: they've now lost six in a row.
Even though they lost, the Giants played a clean game and finished the game with five penalty yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as the Cowboys lost 83.
Meanwhile, things were looking good for Washington after they put the first points on the board on Sunday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of the Seahawks by a score of 29-26.
Despite the loss, the Commanders had strong showings from Sam Howell, who threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns, and Brian Robinson Jr., who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown. Howell hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for three straight games.
The losses dropped New York to 2-8 and Washington to 4-6.
Not only did both teams lose their last games, but neither team managed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, the Commanders are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by nine points. There could be an interesting gambling play in this one: the Giants are only 2-7-1 against the spread overall, but they're a solid 8-2 ATS vs. the Commanders across their last ten meetings.
