Berry's back in trouble again this offseason. (US Presswire)

After an inauspicious offseason, the Lions went a while without having anyone get in trouble. That changed over the weekend, when cornerback Aaron Berry was arrested for the second time in a month.

Berry, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, was arrested on three counts of simple assault after allegedly pulling out a firearm.

"It looks like he was charged with three counts of simple assault and there was a firearm involved," a police spokesperson told Birkett. "Any other information would have to be disclosed by our press-release guy."

Back in June, Berry was arrested for drunk driving during the height of the Lions perceived problems. He'd entered a plea deal on Friday, so his second arrest comes awkwardly soon after he'd cleared up his first set of legal problems.

Understandably, the Lions are "extremely disappointed."

"We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron Berry,” the team said in a statement, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate."

Berry's arrest is the seventh arrest by a Lions player this offseason.
