Stewart scored five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt) and grabbed seven rebounds in Thursday's 118-112 loss to the Knicks. Although his production Thursday wasn't the most glamorous, Stewart has quietly been solid for the Pistons throughout the season. Starting all 19 games thus far, he is averaging 11.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists. 0.7 blocks and 0.3 steals through 31.4 minutes.... See More ... See Less

Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Top rebounder in double-double
Stewart posted 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 35 minutes during Monday's 107-103 loss to Denver. Stewart led all Pistons in rebounds and finished as one of five players with a double-digit point total en route to a double-double during a losing effort. Stewart has tallied a double-double on five occasions this season, including in three of his last five outings.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Delivers double-double Friday
Stewart amassed 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during Friday's 108-100 loss to the Cavaliers. Jalen Duren (ankle) has missed the last three games, and Stewart has produced a double-double in two of them while riding solo as the only true big in the Detroit starting lineup, although he managed only one rebound in 19 minutes against Clint Capela and the Atlanta frontcourt Tuesday. Stewart's got four double-doubles in 13 games to begin the season, putting him well on pace to shatter the career-high 13 he recorded in 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Records double-double in loss
Stewart had 17 points (6-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 31 minutes in Sunday's 119-108 loss to the Bulls. Stewart registered his third double-double of the year and was the leading scorer among the Pistons starters. He entered Sunday's contest shooting 42.5 percent from three and showed his expanded range when he went 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Steward should continue to get extended playing time for as long as Jalen Duren (ankle) remains out.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Stands out in starting role
Stewart accumulated 17 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and one block in 39 minutes during Monday's 120-109 loss to the Warriors. With Jalen Duren (ankle) sidelined, Stewart played a season-high 39 minutes. He made the most of his extended playing time by recording his second double-double of the campaign and tying his season-high assist total. Stewart has scored in double figures in seven of eight appearances thus far, averaging 12.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 34.6 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Active at both ends Wednesday
Stewart contributed 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 110-101 loss to the Trail Blazers. Stewart has been quite consistent to start the campaign, scoring in double digits and recording at least six boards in each game. Stewart might see a short-term uptick in his numbers if Jalen Duren (ankle) is forced to miss additional time, but even if that's not the case, he has posted decent enough numbers to be an asset in deeper leagues. Through five games, Stewart has averaged 13.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Double-double to kick off campaign
Stewart logged 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt), 14 rebounds and two assists over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 103-102 loss to the Heat. The Pistons' starting frontcourt of Stewart and Jalen Duren each grabbed 14 boards as part of double-doubles, out-rebounding their veteran Miami counterparts in Bam Adebayo and Kevin Love. Stewart signed a four-year contract extension in July after taking a step forward in his development during the 2022-23 campaign, and if he's added a consistent three-point shot to his arsenal, a true breakout could be coming for the 22-year-old big man.... Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Inks four-year extension
The Pistons signed Stewart (hip) to a four-year, $64 million contract extension Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Stewart missed the final 21 games of the 2022-23 season due to left hip soreness and a left shoulder impingement, but before being shut down, the No. 16 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft averaged 11.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 28.3 minutes across 50 games. The 6-foot-8 big man also made a more concerted effort to develop a perimeter shot, though he converted on only 32.7 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts per game. Even so, the Pistons evidently saw enough development from Stewart to keep him in the fold in the frontcourt. Though he's probably best suited to play center, Stewart may end up seeing most of his minutes at power forward in 2023-24 with the Pistons expected to lean on the tandem of Jalen Duren and James Wiseman at center.... Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Shut down 3-to-4 weeks
The Pistons announced Thursday that Stewart (hip) is dealing with a left shoulder impingement and will be sidelined for the next 3-to-4 weeks before being re-evaluated, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports. Stewart had missed the Pistons' last six games with what the team had labeled as a sore left hip, but the shoulder injury is likely a lingering concern connected to the one that cost him four games in January. Given that the Pistons aren't in the playoff picture and his projected 3-to-4-week re-evaluation period would arrive with 1-to-2 weeks left in the season, Stewart's 2022-23 campaign has most likely come to a close. Even if Stewart does stage a late return, fantasy managers in redraft formats can probably feel comfortable with cutting him loose in favor of a healthy player. Stewart's absence the rest of the way likely clears out the power forward spot for Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers and Eugene Omoruyi, while Jalen Duren (ankle) and James Wiseman should handle most of the minutes at center.... Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Out again Thursday
Stewart (hip) will not take the floor Thursday versus the Hornets. Stewart is scheduled for his sixth consecutive absence Thursday, and there is no clear timeline for his return to action. His next theoretical opportunity to suit up arrives Saturday versus the Pacers. Marvin Bagley, James Wiseman and Isaiah Livers should continue to log additional minutes in his absence.... Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Out Monday
Stewart (hip) will not play Monday against Portland. Monday will mark the fourth straight game on the sidelines for Stewart. For now, he should be considered questionable for Tuesday's game against the Wizards. With James Wiseman (knee) questionable for Monday's game, Marvin Bagley could be headed for major minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Unavailable Saturday
Stewart (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Cleveland. Stewart practiced Friday, but he'll still be forced to miss a third consecutive game due to his sore left hip. However, Isaiah Livers (ankle) is probable, so the Pistons should get a boost in the frontcourt against the Cavaliers.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Won't play Wednesday
Stewart (hip) will miss Wednesday's game versus the Bulls. Stewart is set for his second consecutive absence after sitting out Tuesday's practice, leaving the Pistons' frontcourt shorthanded with Jalen Duren (ankle) also out and Isaiah Livers (ankle) doubtful. Bojan Bogdanovic (probable with Achilles), Marvin Bagley and James Wiseman may be the primary frontcourt options Wednesday and in line for sizable workloads, while Stewart's next opportunity to suit up arrives Saturday in Cleveland.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Ruled out Monday
Stewart (hip) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Charlotte. Stewart started the last nine games but tweaked his hip during Saturday's loss to the Raptors. Jalen Duren (ankle) is also out, so James Wiseman and Isaiah Livers should see plenty of run in the shorthanded frontcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Questionable Monday
Stewart (hip) is questionable to play Monday against the Hornets. Stewart tweaked his hip during Saturday's loss to the Raptors, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out Monday's game given that the Pistons are out of contention. If he's not able to give it a go on Monday, expect more run for James Wiseman, Marvin Bagley and Isaiah Livers.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Out for remainder of game
Stewart won't return to Saturday's game versus the Raptors due to right hip soreness. Stewart recorded five points, nine rebounds, one block and one assist in 19 minutes before leaving Saturday's game versus the Raptors. Marvin Bagley will likely see increased minutes in his absence. Stewart's status for Monday's matchup with Charlotte is uncertain.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Drills three triples
Stewart finished Sunday's 119-118 loss to the Raptors with 16 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 38 minutes. Though he served as the starting power forward alongside Jalen Duren, Stewart ended up seeing some elevated playing time due to being the Pistons' only available center at one point in the contest when Duren headed to the locker room to have an ankle injury evaluated. Duren was able to return to the contest and should be good to go moving forward, while the Pistons could have new trade acquisition James Wiseman as well as Nerlens Noel (personal) available in their next game Wednesday against the Celtics to add further depth at center. As a result, Stewart's path to playing time at center looks to be fairly muddled moving forward, and he may have to settle for minutes in the upper 20s and low 30s as the Pistons' starting power forward since head coach Dwane Casey still wants to find work for second-year reserve forward Isaiah Livers.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Double-double against Celtics
Stewart racked up 10 points (4-12 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and 12 rebounds across 31 minutes during Monday's 111-99 loss to Boston. It's his 12th double-double of the season in his 44th game, tying the career-high he set last season in 71 contests. Stewart has dealt with shoulder and hip injuries over the last month, but since the beginning of January, he's averaging 10.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists through 12 games despite uncharacteristically poor 39.1 percent shooting from the floor.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Available Monday
Stewart (hip) is available for Monday's game against the Celtics, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports. Stewart dealt with a sore left hip ahead of Monday's matchup but will be able to suit up against Boston. The 21-year-old has started in his last two appearances and has averaged 12.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 32.5 minutes per game during that time.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Questionable Monday
Stewart is questionable for Monday's game against the Celtics due to left hip soreness. Stewart has started the last two matchups, and he played 37 minutes during Saturday's loss to Phoenix. He's dealing with a hip issue ahead of Monday's matchup, and Jalen Duren and Isaiah Livers are candidates to see increased run against Boston if Stewart is unavailable.... See More ... See Less

James L. Edwards III@JLEdwardsIII2D agoThree Pistons field goals in final five minutes. 20 turnovers. 11-17 from the FT line. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. 16 straight losses for Detroit. Next game is Saturday in Cleveland. Fight was there but a loss is a loss at this point. 118-112 Knicks.

Keith Langlois@Keith_Langlois2D agoFINAL: Knicks 118, Pistons 112 Lots of fight, plenty of bright spots, too many turnovers (20) and shooting 65 percent on free throws when the Knicks got 9 more attempts is rough. Cunningham (31), Hayes (23) and Sasser (17) combined for 71 and hit a combined 28 of 44 shots.

James L. Edwards III@JLEdwardsIII2D agoKnicks 110, Pistons 105. Brunson has one more free throw after the timeout. A little over 3 minutes left. Detroit has 20 turnovers for 21 Knicks points. Shooting 10-15 from the line (Bagley is the only big who has taken free throws and he's 2/2, so five missed by guards/wings)

James L. Edwards III@JLEdwardsIII2D agoThis is crazy. Pistons getting 3s from Hayes, Ausar, Cade getting to the rim. Knicks answer with a 3 or second-chance points each time. Pistons just got their 20th turnover.

James L. Edwards III@JLEdwardsIII2D agoPistons are down by four in a game they have 18 turnovers and are shooting 61 percent from the free-throw line. Probably time to get Cade back in soon. Ausar gave Detroit a 3 with a lead. Once again, no momentum created.
