  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Undergoes successful surgery

The Timberwolves announced Tuesday that Towns underwent successful surgery to repair a left knee lateral meniscus tear and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. While Towns seems unlikely to return before the end of the regular season, his successful surgery is a good sign that he will retake the floor for the playoffs. Kyle Anderson (shoulder) will likely remain in the starting lineup in the star big man's absence, with Naz Reid also taking on a larger role.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Needs meniscus surgery

Towns will undergo surgery early next week to repair a torn meniscus and will be re-evaluated in one month, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Though Wojnarowski terms Towns' upcoming surgery as a "repair," the report suggests that the big man is expected back at some point early in the Western Conference playoffs. Given that a meniscus repair often entails a 6-to-9-month recovery period, Towns is more likely getting a meniscectomy, or partial trim of the meniscus, which typically results in a 4-to-6-week recovery timeline. In any event, Towns appears unlikely to play again in the regular season, making him an easy drop for managers in redraft leagues. Kyle Anderson entered the starting five in Towns' place and played 28 minutes in Thursday's 113-111 win over Indiana, while Naz Reid (26 minutes), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (28 minutes) and T.J. Warren (16 minutes) also took on slightly heightened roles.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: May not miss extended time

Towns is out for Thursday's game against the Pacers after being diagnosed with a left meniscus injury, but the Timberwolves are still working to understand the full extent of the issue, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Wojnarowski relays that it remains unclear how much time, if any, beyond Thursday's game that Towns will be forced to miss, with his report striking a more optimistic tone about the big man's health than one less than an hour earlier from Shams Charania of The Athletic, who described Towns as out indefinitely with a torn meniscus. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues are likely best off continuing to roster Towns until the Timberwolves provide more clarity on the extent of his injury as well as a treatment plan, but it's still probable that the 28-year-old will be lost for several weeks, if not the rest of the season. Kyle Anderson and Naz Reid look to be the primary beneficiaries of Towns' absence, for whatever length of time it might be.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Out indefinitely with torn meniscus

Towns was diagnosed Thursday with a torn meniscus in his left knee and is considered out indefinitely, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Minnesota had already ruled Towns out in advance of Thursday's game in Indiana with a sore left knee, but follow-up testing evidently revealed a more significant injury. The Timberwolves likely won't offer up a timeline for Towns until a treatment plan is established, but if a full meniscus repair is needed, he would likely miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs. Even if Towns is able to treat the injury through rest and rehab or if he requires a partial meniscectomy, he still could face an uphill battle to make it back on the court before the regular season ends April 14. For whatever length of time Towns is out, the Timberwolves will likely turn to Kyle Anderson and Naz Reid to help replace his minutes.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Won't play versus Indiana

Towns has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against the Pacers due to left knee soreness. Thursday's matchup is the first half of a back-to-back set, so this may just be a rest day for the big man, who hasn't missed a game due to injury since Dec. 23. In his absence, Naz Reid and Kyle Anderson are candidates for increased roles, while recently-signed T.J. Warren could also enter the rotation for the first time.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Sniffs triple-double Sunday

Towns supplied 18 points (7-18 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and eight assists across 34 minutes during Sunday's 89-88 loss to the Clippers. Towns has gone three straight games without reaching the 20-point mark, but given Anthony Edwards has settled himself as Minnesota's primary offensive weapon, Towns has adjusted well to being the Timberwolves' second-best scorer. The star big man can also get the job done in categories such as rebounds and assists, as evidenced by the fact he finished just one rebound and two assists shy of posting what would've been his first triple-double of the season. Even if his recent scoring numbers have not been eye-popping, Towns is still scoring at a higher rate than the previous campaign.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Not listed on injury report

Towns (personal) isn't listed on Minnesota's injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies. Towns was a late scratch ahead of Tuesday's win over the Spurs due to a personal matter, but he looks set to return to action Wednesday. However, Anthony Edwards (ankle) and Rudy Gobert (ankle) are questionable, so Minnesota may still be down a starter or two. In February (nine games), Towns has averaged 21.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.7 three-pointers, 1.9 assists and 1.2 blocks in 30.9 minutes per game.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Late scratch due to personal matter

Towns will not play Tuesday versus San Antonio due to a personal matter, Dane Moore of 'The Dane Moore NBA Podcast' reports. Towns' next opportunity to take the court comes Wednesday versus Memphis. Rudy Gobert (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game, and Naz Reid could be thrust into a prominent role regardless of Gobert's ultimate status.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Lifts offense in near double-double

Towns finished with 28 points (8-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 36 minutes during Saturday's 101-86 victory over the Nets. Towns led all players in Saturday's contest in threes made while shooting a perfect mark from the free-throw line and ending as one of two Timberwolves players with 25 or more points in a bounce-back victory. Towns, who ended one rebound shy of a double-double and added a pair of blocks defensively, has posted at least 25 points and eight rebounds in 10 games this season while connecting on four or more threes 12 times.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Records double-double

Towns chipped in 22 points (9-22 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Friday's 112-107 loss to the Bucks. Towns had a rough time dealing with the Bucks' defense and needed 22 shots to score 22 points. However, shooting woes aside, the star big man delivered another solid outing en route to posting his first double-double since a 14-point, 10-rebound display against the Rockets on Feb. 4. Towns has adjusted to being Minnesota's second-best offensive option behind Anthony Edwards, and he's having a strong year across the board. He's averaging 20.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per game since the beginning of February.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Continues strong play in win

Towns notched 23 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 30 minutes during Thursday's 128-91 win over Portland. • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Posts 24 points in victory

Towns totaled 24 points (8-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block across 27 minutes during Monday's 121-100 win over the Clippers. Towns led the team in scoring and was the primary catalyst on a third-quarter run that sent the Timberwolves to victory. Towns recorded one of his lowest rebounding totals of the season in the win, leaving much of the heavy lifting to Rudy Gobert in the frontcourt.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Massive stat line not enough

Towns accumulated 33 points (11-22 FG, 7-16 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 39 minutes during Tuesday's 129-123 overtime loss to Chicago. Towns bounced back from a subpar effort against the Rockets on Sunday, and he delivered one of his best scoring performances of the campaign here, but his efforts were not enough. His overall numbers are representing an upgrade compared to the 2022-23 campaign, and though he's now operating as Minnesota's second-best offensive weapon behind Anthony Edwards, Towns remains a solid two-way contributor who can post a double-double, or fill the stat sheet, on any given night.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Muted effort against Houston

Towns ended with 14 points (4-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 10 rebounds and two blocks in 27 minutes during Sunday's 111-90 victory over Houston. This wasn't Towns' best performance, but his fantasy managers can just chalk it up to an off night as he took a backseat to Anthony Edwards in this one. Towns has been trending up since his 62-point explosion on Jan. 22, averaging 27.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 blocks and 3.0 three-pointers over his last eight games.

Towns finished with 29 points (11-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 121-87 victory over the Mavericks. Towns led all players in Wednesday's contest in scoring while leading the Timberwolves in threes made and ending one rebound short of a double-double in another strong performance. Towns has buried four or more threes in nine games this year, having scored 25 or more points in four of his last six games while hauling in at least eight boards in three of his last four appearances.

Towns contributed 27 points (12-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and three assists over 37 minutes during Thursday's 96-94 victory over Brooklyn. Towns has posted at least 18 points and 10 rebounds in two of his last four games while averaging an impressive 38.7 points over his last three games.

Towns racked up 27 points (11-24 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 118-107 win over Washington. Towns once again boosted Minnesota's offense, coming off a career-high 62-point outing Monday by ending as one of two Timberwolves with 25 or more points and ending three points short of the 30-point mark. Towns, who also hauled in a half-dozen rebounds in the victory, has tallied at least 25 points and six boards in three of his last five games.

  • Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns: Erupts for career-high 62 points

Towns accumulated 62 points (21-35 FG, 10-15 3Pt, 10-14 FT), eight rebounds and two assists over 38 minutes during Monday's 128-125 loss to the Hornets. Towns was red hot despite the loss, scoring 44 of his career-high 62 points in the first half. He went 10-for-15 from the perimeter, also a career-high mark. While this was a statement performance for Towns, it was a terrible loss for the Timberwolves. They will look to get back on track in what should be another favorable matchup against the Wizards on Wednesday.
