  • Justin Hamilton: Headed to China

Hamilton has agreed to join the Beijing Shougang Ducks, per his official Twitter account.

After joining the Raptors via trade in mid-July as a filler that allowed the team to unload DeMarre Carrol to the Nets, Hamilton was subsequently waived. Now, he has opted to take his talents to China, signing with the Beijing Shougang Ducks. He averaged 6.9 points and 4.1 rebounds across 18.4 minutes per game with the Nets last year.

  • Justin Hamilton: Waived by Raptors

Hamilton was waived by the Raptors on Friday.

Hamilton joined the Raptors earlier this month as filler in the trade that allowed them to unload DeMarre Carroll. With depth up front, however, Toronto has no use for the seven-footer, explaining its decision to waive him. In his lone season spent on just one team since entering the league, Hamilton averaged 6.9 points and 4.1 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game for the Nets last term.

  • Raptors' Justin Hamilton: En route to Canada

Hamilton was traded to the Raptors on Saturday in exchange for DeMarre Carroll, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The Nets are taking on Carroll's bloated salary over the next two years while also receiving a 2018 first-round pick and a 2018 second-round pick from the Raptors. Hamilton has shown brief flashes of productivity over his three-year career, but he's merely a pawn in this transaction. He has one year left on his current deal and will likely spend the upcoming season at the end of the bench with limited playing time.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Will start at center Wednesday

Hamilton will start at center for Wednesday's game against the Bulls, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

The Nets are resting Brook Lopez on Wednesday, which allows Hamilton to enter the starting five at center. Trevor Booker (rest) and Quincy Acy (ankle) are both out as well, so there should be a ton of playing time available, which could allow Hamilton to push for a 30-plus minutes role. He'll be an intriguing, low-cost DFS play Wednesday.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Scores team-high 20 points Friday

Hamilton registered 20 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 23 minutes in Friday's 129-108 loss to the Wizards.

In his first back-to-back double-digit scoring games since January 15th, Hamilton showcased his range as a big man, connecting on all but one of his threes from the floor Friday night. He doesn't play half of the games and when he does play, his minutes are limited, so he should remain on waivers in most fantasy formats.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Probable to play Saturday vs. Trail Blazers

Hamilton (illness) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Hamilton was held out of action in Friday's loss to the Jazz with the illness, but the expectation is that he'll be cleared to return Saturday in his usual capacity. The 26-year-old had a handful of explosive performances early in the season, but he's settled into a lesser role over the last couple of months and has topped 20 minutes only twice since Jan. 27.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Doesn't play Saturday in coach's decision

Hamilton failed to see the floor in Saturday's 130-116 loss to the Trail Blazers in a coach's decision.

Hamilton missed Friday's loss to the Jazz with the illness, but had been cleared to suit up for the second half of the back-to-back set. Though he was seemingly healthy enough to contribute, coach Kenny Atkinson opted to go with smaller lineups when starting center Brook Lopez was on the bench, leaving no room for Hamilton to crack the rotation. Hamilton has just one double-digit scoring performance in his last 16 games and remains waiver-wire bait in most formats.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Ruled out Friday vs. Jazz

Hamilton won't play Friday against the Jazz due to an illness.

Hamilton wasn't listed on the Nets' injury report heading into the day, so the illness may have surfaced at some point after morning shootaround. The big man's lack of availability will allow the Nets to keep Andrew Nicholson active for the night, and he could end up settling in as the main backup to starting center Brook Lopez.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Rejoins bench rotation Sunday

Hamilton had eight points (4-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), six rebounds, two blocks, one assist, and one steal in 19 minutes during Sunday's 103-95 loss to the Raptors.

After receiving a DNP-coach's decision on Friday against the Pacers, Hamilton rejoined the bench rotation and reached his average for minutes on Sunday. There isn't a ton of time available behind Brook Lopez at center, and the two big men very rarely share the floor together. As a result, Hamilton is best reserved for use in deeper leagues unless Lopez gets dealt before the trade deadline or suffers an injury.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Dropped from rotation Friday

Hamilton (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Friday's 106-97 loss to the Pacers.

Coach Kenny Atkinson has shown a willingness to rest his big men periodically throughout the season, but Hamilton's failure to enter Friday's game looks like a pure benching, as the Nets weren't in the midst of a back-to-back set and kept things competitive. It appears Brook Lopez, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Trevor Booker are clearly ahead of Hamilton in the frontcourt pecking order, but he should still have a shot at usurping Quincy Acy and Luis Scola for spots in the rotation in future contests. Even so, with only one double-digit scoring performance in his last eight appearances, Hamilton's fantasy upside remains limited.

  • Nets' Justin Hamilton: Resting Saturday

Hamilton will be rested for Saturday's game against the Hornets, https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/822938289749561346>Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.

On the second night of a back-to-back, Hamilton will be rested, which should equate to increased minutes for Quincy Acy and Trevor Booker. Expect Hamilton to return to action Monday against the Spurs.
