The last thing the Boston Celtics need is another player lost to an injury or ailment. And the very last thing anyone in the NBA world wants to hear is that another player has been diagnosed with a heart problem.

Unfortunately, CSNNE.com reports that Celtics reserve forward Chris Wilcox will be sidelined indefinitely after he underwent tests on his ticker and the results were not as desired.
Chris Wilcox is out indefinitely after the results from routine cardiac tests showed a need for additional tests to be performed.

Wilcox is expected to meet with team doctors early next week, which means he will not play in tomorrow's game against the Los Angeles Lakers, or Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
ESPNBoston.com reported the reaction of Celtics coach Doc Rivers, who sounded clearly shaken after Boston lost forward Jeff Green to an unexpected heart surgery earrlier this year.

"There's not much I can say. They have a bunch of tests to run and it's what it is," Rivers said Sunday before the Celtics' game with the Lakers. "Obviously teamwise, it's a hell of a blow for us.

"It's not a great place. It's scary, it really is. You think about it, the chances of having one of these in a year, it's pretty minute. The chance of having two is like impossible. There's a chance that might happen. We just have to wait and see.

In addition to Wilcox and Green, Sacramento Kings center Chuck Hayes, Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge and Toronto Raptors big man Aaron Gray have all had heart ailments or scares during the 2011-2012 season.

Wilcox, 29, is averaging 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game off of Boston's bench this season.

In his 10th season out of Maryland, Wilcox has played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons and the Celtics. Wilcox signed with Boston during the December free agency period.
