The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported from Hawks practice Thursday that head coach Larry Drew told reporters Josh Smith is without a limp, but that it's still possible Smith misses Game 3 in Boston with his strained knee. Drew went on to say that the Hawks wouldn't want Smith in a position to hurt his knee further, obviously, which shows either that the Hawks think they can win the series without Game 3 or that they're not overly concerned with winning the series long-term. It's nice that they have that concern for him, despite not being willing to trade him after multiple requests.

Drew said if Smith is out, both Marvin Williams and Tracy McGrady will fill in at power forward, which should go great. If by great, you mean "they will get eaten alive by Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass."

The Hawks are already missing Al Horford, who's unlikely to be back this round if at all, and Zaza Pachulia who's day-to-day with a foot injury and has missed the first two games. Losing Smith would render the Hawks' frontcourt eviscerated.
