Here come the Charlotte Bobcats!

OK, that's a bit much. But according to multiple reports, the Bobcats have won the amnesty bid for Brendan Haywood, who was waived by the Mavericks using the provision last week.

According to NBA.com, the winning bid for Haywood was $2.05 million per year. Before being amnestied by the Mavs, Haywood was set to make $45 million guaranteed through 2015 in Dallas. So at $2.05 million, that's a pretty good bargain for the Bobcats.

Especially when you consider Charlotte is in desperate need of interior depth. The Bobcats have Bismack Biyombo, who isn't a true center, and Byron Mullens, who was solid last season after finally seeing some playing time, but he isn't ready for major minutes.

The Mavs will pay remaining $6.34 million of Haywood's salary this season and $25.2 million of guaranteed money left on his contract, via NBA.com.

Haywood averaged 5.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season in 54 games for Dallas.
