  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Placed on 60-day IL

Arizona recalled Fletcher from Triple-A Reno and placed him on the 60-day injured list Monday with a fractured left index finger.

Fletcher suffered the injury while playing for Reno and was placed on the affiliate's 7-day IL on Aug. 24. By recalling Fletcher and adding him to the major-league IL, the Diamondback will be able to open up another 40-man roster spot for southpaw reliever Andrew Saalfrank, whose contract was selected from Reno. Fletcher is now officially done for the season after he had been productive during his time in the majors earlier on in 2023, slashing .301/.350/.441 with two home runs and 14 RBI across 102 plate appearances.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Lands on minor-league IL

Fletcher (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Reno on Thursday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Fletcher was optioned to Reno in early July and has maintained a .252 average with seven home runs, 25 RBI and 35 runs scored in 31 games since. Those numbers were achieved in a hitter-friendly environment, though it's still possible he'll get another chance in Arizona before the close of the campaign. However, this injury will decrease that likelihood.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Optioned to Reno

Arizona optioned Fletcher to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Fletcher had gone 4-for-15 with zero extra-base hits since being recalled to the majors June 30. This demotion seems like good news for the status of Corbin Carroll's right shoulder, though the Diamondbacks have also called up outfield prospect Dominic Canzone.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Back to bench

Fletcher was not in Tuesday's starting lineup, as Corbin Carroll returned from a shoulder injury.

Fletcher had made three consecutive starts, playing all three outfield spots, while Carroll rehabbed his injury. He entered Tuesday's game as a pinch runner and finished out the game in right field.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Opportunity could close

Fletcher started in right field and went 1-for-4 in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.

Fletcher made a third straight start in place of Corbin Carroll, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury since last Thursday. Carroll served as a pinch hitter Sunday and could rejoin the team Tuesday, which would curb Fletcher's at-bats. It's unclear how the Diamondbacks will adjust the lineup once Carroll is ready, as they currently have six outfielders on the roster. Presumably, either Fletcher or Kyle Lewis will head back to Triple-A Reno.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Fills in for Carroll

Fletcher started in left field and went 1-for-4 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Angels.

Fletcher, who was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Friday, filled in for the injured Corbin Carroll, who suffered a shoulder injury and was removed from Thursday's game. Fletcher was up with the Diamondbacks earlier this season after the team demoted Alek Thomas and was initially quite productive. He had a 1.231 OPS through the first two weeks before tailing off (.427 OPS) over the subsequent two weeks. Arizona also recalled outfielder Kyle Lewis from Reno on Friday, so the outfield will be a crowded place once Carroll is ready.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Called up Friday

Fletcher was called up from Triple-A Reno on Friday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Fletcher will return to the major-league roster after being sent down in late May and batting .328 with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, 14 runs and a stolen base over 13 Triple-A games since his demotion. He's compiled a .308/.349/.474 slash line with eight extra-base hits, including two homers, over 85 plate appearances with Arizona in 2023, but Fletcher had been in a 6-for-39 (.154) slump when sent back down. The 24-year-old will face off with his brother David Fletcher and the Angels upon his return to the big leagues Friday.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Optioned to Triple-A

The Diamondbacks optioned Fletcher to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Fletcher got off to an extremely hot start after reaching the big leagues for the first time in late April, but he's cooled off tremendously of late with a .419 OPS in his past 10 contests. He will return to Reno, where he's slashing .323/.417/.559 through 109 plate appearances, and he could be brought back up to the majors if he returns to form. Jake McCarthy is set to return to the D-backs and fill Fletcher's spot on the roster.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Replaces optioned Thomas

Fletcher started in center field and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Fletcher was prominent on both ends. After nailing Tony Kemp at home plate in the seventh inning to preserve a 3-3 tie, he scored Arizona's final run as part of a two-run ninth inning. Fletcher moved into the center field spot that was once held by Alek Thomas, whom the Diamondbacks optioned to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday. The former had usurped at-bats from Thomas since being called up at the end of April and now will become the primary center fielder.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Drives in five

Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and five RBI in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Giants.

Fletcher drove in every Arizona run that wasn't scored on a wild pitch in the contest. He put the Diamondbacks ahead with a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning, then added some insurance with a two-run homer in the eighth. He's carving up Giants pitching in this weekend series, going 8-for-12 (.667) with 11 RBI over the last three games. The 24-year-old has seized a near-everyday role in May, and he's slashing .462/.488/.744 with two homers, 13 RBI and five runs scored over his first 12 big-league games.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Hits first big-league bomb

Fletcher went 3-for-4 with one double, one home run, four RBI and one run scored in Friday's 7-5 win over the Giants.

Fletcher had a breakout game, accounting for over half of Arizona's runs by himself. The outfielder's three-run blast in the second inning tied the game at 3-3, after traveling 428 feet in the air. The 25=year-old couldn't be off to a hotter start, slashing .457.486/.629 through 11 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Dominic Fletcher: Hits first MLB homer

Fletcher went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Friday's 7-5 win over the Giants.

Fletcher, who has two consecutive three-hit efforts, sent a Ross Stripling slider 428 feet to right-center field in the second inning for his first MLB homer. A lower-ranked prospect at the start of the season, Fletcher has hit consistently since being called up when the Diamondbacks sent Jake McCarthy back to the minors. His start Friday was in center field for the slumping Alek Thomas. Fletcher has at least one base hit in nine of 10 starts and is 16-for-35 (.457) with four extra-base hits and two walks.
