Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Avoids arbitration
Raleigh agreed to a one-year, $5.6 million contract with the Mariners on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Raleigh will receive a $4.8 million salary bump in his first year of arbitration eligibility after setting career highs with 34 home runs and 100 RBI in 2024. While his career .218 batting average remains an issue for fantasy managers, the 28-year-old's power and consistent playing time make him well worth rostering in 2025.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Secures 100-RBI season with homer
Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Athletics.
Raleigh set the major-league record for most homers by a catcher over his first four seasons when he went yard in the fifth inning. That blast was the margin of victory Sunday, and it also secured a 100-RBI campaign for the 27-year-old. Raleigh finished the year with a .220/.312/.436 slash line, 34 homers, 73 runs scored, six stolen bases and 16 doubles over 153 games, though he hit a much more impressive .286 (28-for-98) in September while homering in four of his last seven games.

Raleigh has been consistent lately, going 12-for-40 (.300) over his last nine games. The catcher leads all major-league backstops with 32 homers this year, four ahead of the Athletics' Shea Langeliers. Raleigh has added a .218/.312/.426 slash line, 97 RBI, 70 runs scored and six stolen bases over 151 contests. Raleigh went deep off Andrew Heaney in the third inning. Over 19 games in September, Raleigh has gone 19-for-71 (.268) with four homers, 15 RBI and 10 runs scored. The catcher is up to 31 homers, 95 RBI, 67 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .214/.311/.424 slash line over 147 contests this season, giving him an outside chance at a 100-RBI campaign if he gets hot over the final week.

Raleigh got the Mariners on the board early with a first-inning solo home run off Yu Darvish to bring him up to 30 home runs for a second consecutive season. The 27-year-old is batting .333/.378/.667 with three homers, 11 RBI and seven runs over his last eight games and leads the Mariners by a wide margin in home runs and RBI. For the year, he's slashing .213/.304/.431 with 45 extra-base hits, 91 RBI, 64 runs, six steals and a 60:161 BB:K in 553 plate appearances.

Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 6-4 win over the A's.
Raleigh hit a two-run blast off Joey Estes deep in the top of the first inning to get the scoring started. Raleigh also managed to steal his sixth base of the season, which is impressive considering he only had one steal in his first three seasons combined. The 27-year-old is now just one homer away from matching his total from last year and being the first catcher with 30 home runs in back-to-back seasons since Mike Piazza did it for eight straight years from 1995 to 2002.
