Noda went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Twins on Thursday. Noda's eighth-inning solo blast snapped a 1-1 tie and proved to be the difference in the game. The homer snapped an extended power drought for the rookie, who's now reached safely in six straight games but had last left the yard Sept. 11, a span of 14 contests.... See More ... See Less

Athletics' Ryan Noda: Not in lineup Thursday
Noda is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers. Jordan Diaz will start at first base and bat seventh. Noda grabs a breather after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Wednesday's series finale versus the Mariners.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Belts 15th long ball
Noda went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-0 victory versus the Astros on Monday. Noda struck out in each of his first three plate appearances but finished on a high note with a 400-foot solo homer in the ninth inning. The stat line is pretty indicative of his season as a whole -- of Noda's 81 hits, 36 have been for extra bases (including 15 homers), but he's also struck out 138 times in 423 plate appearances. Noda has fanned 14 times through 10 contests in September, but he's managed a decent .270 batting average along with three homers, eight runs and seven RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: On base thrice in loss
Noda went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run in a loss to the Rangers on Sunday. Noda extended his modest hitting streak to three games with Sunday's multi-hit effort, his first since Sept. 1. The rookie is heading into the final stretch of the regular season with some solid momentum, having posted a .273/.385/.839 slash line with six extra-base hits and 10 RBI across the 19 games he's played since returning from an injured list stint due to a jaw fracture. Noda has also encouragingly demonstrated an improvement in his ability to make consistent contact during that sample -- he posted a 32.5 percent strikeout rate in the first 100 games of the season, but he's cut that figure down to 24.4 percent since his IL return.... Athletics' Ryan Noda: Slugs 13th homer Sunday
Noda went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run in a win over the Angels on Sunday. Noda ignited the Athletics' rally from a 3-0 deficit in the sixth inning with a 406-foot shot to center and Zack Gelof aboard. The rookie has now hit safely in four straight games, and he boasts a .310 average and .942 OPS overall across the 13 contests he's suited up for since returning from a stint on the injured list due to a fractured jaw.... Athletics' Ryan Noda: Thrives as in-game replacement
Noda entered Friday's win over the Angels as a pinch hitter in the fourth inning and remained in the game at first base, going 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a run. The 27-year-old lined out to center in his pinch-hit appearance, but he proceeded to deliver in his final at-bat of the night with an eighth-inning double that drove in Zack Gelof. Noda now has five RBI over his last seven games and pushed his OPS back over the .800 threshold (.803) for the season with Friday's production.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Records third steal Thursday
Noda went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run in a win over the White Sox on Thursday. The rookie slugger led off for only the fifth time this season and crossed the plate with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning on Zack Gelof's two-run home run. Noda has reached safely in each of his first four games back from a stint on the injured list due to a jaw fracture, although he's still searching for his first extra-base hit since July 18.... Athletics' Ryan Noda: Sits against lefty
Noda is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Royals. Noda will not start with lefty Angel Zerpa taking the mound for the Royals. Carlos Perez will take his spot at first base and bat third.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Returns from injured list
The Athletics reinstated Noda (jaw) from the 10-day injured list Monday. Noda will rejoin the big club after he recently completed a four-game rehab stint with Triple-A Las Vegas, during which he went 4-for-10 with two home runs and two doubles. Before fracturing his jaw in mid-July, Noda had been one of the Athletics' more productive hitters, and he should immediately reclaim a near-everyday spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching. The Athletics demoted Tyler Soderstrom to Triple-A in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Back to taking BP
Noda (jaw) has been cleared to begin hitting again while donning a batting helmet, the Associated Press reports. Manager Mark Kotsay labeled the latest benchmark in Noda's recovery from a fractured jaw "a good sign" and added that the rookie is set for another evaluation with his oral surgeon next week. Noda's ability to begin taking batting practice again should help him preserve some timing, although he's likely to require a rehab assignment before his eventual activation.... See More ... Athletics' Ryan Noda: Tracks pitches Saturday
Noda (jaw) tracked pitches in the batter's box while James Kaprielian (shoulder) and Zach Jackson (elbow) completed mound sessions Saturday, the Associated Press reports. The rookie still likely has at least a couple of more weeks on the shelf before returning from the fractured mandible he suffered while getting hit in the face during pregame fielding practice Tuesday. However, it's certainly a positive for Noda to try and remain mentally locked in as much as possible during his sudden shutdown. If Noda's healing process goes as expected, he may not need a rehab assignment before being activated.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Likely out three weeks
Nola (jaw) is expected to be sidelined for around three weeks, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. That's the timeline Noda received from an oral surgeon after he was diagnosed Wednesday with a fractured mandible. He suffered the injury Tuesday while taking pregame fielding practice and has already been placed on the injured list. Seth Brown is starting at first base and batting cleanup for the Athletics on Thursday versus the Astros.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Out due to dental emergency
Noda was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox due to a dental emergency, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Unless Noda is still dealing with pain in his mouth area after visiting the dentist, he likely won't miss more than a day or two of action before returning to the Oakland lineup. As a result of Noda being scratched Wednesday, Shea Langeliers will make a fourth consecutive start behind the plate, while Tyler Soderstrom fills in for Noda at first base.... See More ... Athletics' Ryan Noda: Sitting Sunday
Noda isn't in Oakland's lineup Sunday versus the Twins. Despite Noda's .790 OPS against right-handers this season, he'll sit out Sunday's contest against Bryce Miller and the Mariners. Tyler Soderstrom will fill in as Oakland's first baseman while Jordan Diaz serves as the DH and bats sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Swats 10th homer
Noda went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Twins. Noda blasted a solo home run off Pablo Lopez in the fourth, marking his 10th long ball of the season. However, he wasn't able to put another ball in play, striking out in each of his other four at-bats. The first baseman has collected a hit in eight of his last 10 games but hasn't had a multi-hit performance since June 13. Through 87 games, Noda is slashing .225/.375/.404 with a monstrous 33.9 percent strikeout rate.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Sits out with stomach bug
Noda is absent from the lineup Thursday due to a stomach illness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Noda popped his ninth home run of the season during Wednesday's win over the Tigers but won't start Thursday's game in Detroit due to illness. It's possible he'll be available to pinch hit, with a return to the lineup in a day or two likely.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Belts ninth homer Wednesday
Noda went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Tigers on Wednesday. Noda's 397-foot shot to right field plated Jordan Diaz to cap off Oakland's three-run first inning and kick-start a prolific offensive day. The blast extended Noda's hitting streak to four games and marked his first time leaving the yard since June 21, but the 27-year-old continues to struggle with making consistent contact as indicated by his 36.4 percent strikeout rate over the last 11 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Reaches four times Saturday
Noda went 1-for-2 with a double, three walks, a run and an RBI in a 7-6 win against the White Sox on Saturday. Noda struggled mightily during the second half of June, posting a .130/.245/.217 slash line between June 15 and June 30. However, he began July on a positive note, reaching base four times and tying a season high with three walks. Noda's .229/.384/.402 season slash line is far from exciting, but he's locked into an everyday role at first base and leads the team in runs (37) and walks (56).... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Not in Sunday's lineup
Noda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays. Noda started the past 25 games and will receive a day off after he posted an .800 OPS during that span. Carlos Perez is starting at first base and batting second Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Slams three-run homer
Noda went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday. Noda gave Oakland an early 4-0 lead with his three-run shot in the third inning, but Cleveland eventually came back to pull out a close victory. The first baseman had been slumping coming into the contest, batting .182 with no homers and 16 strikeouts over his previous 44 at-bats. Noda has been one of Oakland's most productive offensive players with a .239/.390/.423 slash line, eight home runs, 35 runs, 30 RBI and two thefts on the season.... See More ... See Less
