  • Yankees' Clayton Andrews: Optioned to Triple-A

The Yankees optioned Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday. Andrews was selected from Triple-A earlier Tuesday, and he will now head back to the minors immediately following New York's loss to the Mariners -- though now he has a spot on the 40-man roster. The left-hander only pitched one-third of an inning against Seattle, allowing a solo home run to Luke Raley in the process. Although Andrews has been serviceable in the minors since being DFA'd in mid-April, his career 27.00 ERA through 3.2 big-league innings may cause the Yankees to look elsewhere if they need to rely on their organizational bullpen depth later in the year.

  • Yankees' Clayton Andrews: Back in big leagues

The Yankees selected Andrews' contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday. Andrews was scrubbed from the Yankees' 40-man roster last month but has worked his way back onto it and is back in the majors after holding a 3.97 ERA and 16:6 K:BB over his last 11.1 innings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He'll operate in low-leverage spots.

  • Yankees' Clayton Andrews: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Yankees sent Andrews outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. Andrews went unclaimed off waivers after being DFA'd by the Yankees on Monday, so he will officially remain within the organization. The 27-year-old southpaw has gotten off to a rough start in the minors, allowing six earned runs across 3.2 innings while striking out two batters and walking six.

  • Yankees' Clayton Andrews: Designated for assignment

Andrews was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Monday. Andrews was acquired via trade in February but failed to make the Opening Day roster and had allowed six runs in his first 3.2 innings at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Josh Maciejewski is taking his spot on the 40-man roster.

  • Brewers' Clayton Andrews: Designated for assignment

The Brewers designated Andrews for assignment Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The signing of Jakob Junis became official Wednesday, causing Andrews to lose his spot on the 40-man roster. Andrews struggled during his brief time in the majors, allowing 10 earned runs in just 3.1 innings across four appearances. He put together a 2.53 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in Triple-A, however, making it possible another team gives him a chance off the waiver wire.

  • Brewers' Clayton Andrews: Up from Nashville

The Brewers recalled Andrews from Triple-A Nashville on Friday. Andrews had a largely successful season with Nashville, recording a 2.53 ERA and 1.23 WHIP through 57 innings. He has not had the same success at the major-league level, giving up eight earned runs over just 1.2 innings in three appearances. Nonetheless, Andrews will replace Ethan Small on the roster and could see action during Milwaukee's series against the Cubs if the Brewers opt to keep their primary bullpen pieces fresh for the playoffs.

Andrews' contract was selected by the Brewers on Saturday. The 26-year-old lefty will make his big-league debut whenever manager Craig Counsell calls on him for the first time.
