  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Officially placed on IL

The Twins placed Lewis (knee) on the 10-day injured list Saturday. Lewis suffered a left knee sprain while playing in Thursday's game, and although the Twins haven't announced a firm return timeline for the 26-year-old, he'll be forced to sit until at least April 21. Tristan Gray will likely receive the bulk of starts at third base while Lewis is out, and Ryan Kreidler will come up from Triple-A St. Paul to provide depth.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Bound for injured list

The Twins will place Lewis on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left knee sprain, Audra Martin of FanDuel Sports Network North reports. Lewis didn't play Friday after tweaking his knee in Thursday's contest, and he'll now officially sit out for at least another 10 days. Tristan Gray started at the hot corner Friday and will likely continue to do so until Lewis returns.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: On base three times in win

Lewis went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Tigers. Lewis posted his first multi-hit effort of the season, and he's now walked seven times over his last five games. The improvements for getting on base should help him keep a starting role at third base. Lewis is batting just .219 on the season, but he's getting on base at a .390 clip thanks to an 8:11 BB:K across 11 games. He's added two home runs, two stolen bases, eight RBI, six runs scored and two doubles through 41 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Bats eighth, lifted for PH

Lewis hit eighth in the batting order and went 0-for-2 and grounded into a double play in Thursday's 2-1 loss against Baltimore. He was also hit by a pitch before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning with the tying run on base. Lewis struggled during spring training by hitting .133 (6 for 45) with two home runs and a .449 OPS. The third baseman was once thought to be a future star who would hit in the heart of the order, but new manager Derek Shelton moved him lower in the lineup and didn't trust him in a key spot in the ninth inning. It shows that Lewis has a way to go to get back to his promising 2023 season, when he clubbed 15 homers and had a .920 OPS in 58 games.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Slumping this spring

Lewis is hitting just .091 (3-for-33) with two home runs this spring. He has two walks and 11 strikeouts. Lewis appears healthy after missing a few days due to tightness in his side which is likely the most important aspect of his spring. However, it would be nice to see him get on a roll the final few days of spring training. Still, he's set to be the everyday starter at third base.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Back in action Tuesday

Lewis (side) is starting at third base and batting leadoff in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays. The third baseman has been sidelined the past few days after some side tightness cropped up last week, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup after having an MRI come back clean and going through live batting practice Sunday. Given Lewis' extensive injury history, fantasy managers should still keep on eye on his health status throughout spring training.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Should return this week

Lewis (side) participated in a session of live batting practice Sunday and could rejoin Minnesota's Grapefruit League lineup as early as Tuesday, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports. The 26-year-old was scratched from the lineup last Thursday due to right side tightness, but he had an MRI come back negative and resumed baseball activities over the weekend. Lewis had injury troubles once again in 2025 with hamstring and quadriceps issues, but he still played in a career-high 106 games. The side injury appears to be a minor concern, but any spring health problems are worth keeping an eye on given Lewis' injury history.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: MRI on side comes back negative

An MRI on Lewis' right side came back negative, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Lewis had to be scratched from Thursday's Grapefruit League lineup against the Pirates due to tightness in his side, but he has managed to sidestep a serious injury. The Twins are likely to keep Lewis out of game action for at least a few days to be safe, but he should be considered day-to-day.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Knocks pinch-hit home run

Lewis went 1-for-1 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over Cleveland. Lewis did not crack the starting lineup Sunday but put the game out of reach with his three-run shot in the seventh inning. It was his first home run since Sep. 8 when he went deep twice against the Angels. He's now slashing .241/.289/.399 with 30 extra-base hits and 51 RBI through 380 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Absent from lineup Sunday

Lewis isn't in the starting lineup Sunday versus Cleveland. Lewis will take a seat amidst a strong September during which he's batted .274 with three homers, 10 RBI and nine stolen bases through 18 games. Ryan Fitzgerald is getting a turn at the hot corner in Lewis' stead Sunday.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Tallies pair of steals

Lewis went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. The former first-overall pick reached double figures in steals for the first time in his four-year career, as he notched his ninth and 10th stolen bases of the season. Lewis nabbed second off Arizona starter Nabil Crismatt in the second before returning in the eighth to swipe second against reliever Anthony DeSclafani. Through 356 total plate appearances, Lewis now sports a .237/.289/.395 slash line with 12 homers, 45 RBI and 35 runs scored.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Blasts two bombs in blowout win

Lewis went 2-for-5 with a pair of two-run homers in Monday's win over the Angels. Lewis delivered a big night Monday, clubbing two home runs for his second multi-homer game of the year and first since July 20. It's been a challenging season overall for the 26-year-old, as injuries have limited both his availability and effectiveness. Through 88 games, the third baseman is slashing .237/.293/.406 with 16 doubles, 12 home runs, seven steals, 44 RBI and 33 runs.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Wallops ninth homer in win

Lewis went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in a 7-4 win over the Padres on Friday. The homer was Lewis' ninth of the season and his fourth of the month. The oft-injured slugger is trying to end the season on a high note, and fantasy managers in need of pop in shallow leagues should give him a look. Over his last 11 outings (40 at-bats), Lewis is slashing .250/.318/.575 with five extra-base hits and nine RBI.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Smacks late home run

Lewis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the White Sox. Lewis struck out in each of his first three plate appearances, but he managed to get on the board in the eighth inning on a blast to left-center field. Lewis is now up to eight home runs on the season, three of which have come over his last six games, during which he's gone 7-for-22 (.318) with one steal, five runs and seven RBI.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Swats grand slam Friday

Lewis went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and an additional run scored in Friday's 9-7 win over the White Sox. Lewis established a season high in RBI, and the three-hit effort was his third of the campaign. It's been another injury-riddled year for the slugging infielder, who is slashing an uneven .233/.293/.378 with seven long balls, 15 doubles and 33 RBI over 273 plate appearances. Lewis still has a clear path to everyday reps at third base the rest of the way, and he's logged a hit in three of his past four outings.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Launches fifth homer in loss

Lewis went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a double in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers. It was Lewis' fifth homer of the season and his third in the month of July. The slugging third baseman is finally beginning to come around amidst what's been another injury-plagued campaign, and his recent surge could help him work his way back up Minnesota's batting order. Since the start of June, Lewis is slashing .322/.381/.529 with four big flies, six doubles and 16 RBI over 97 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Three hits, steal in win

Lewis went 3-for-4 with a double and one stolen base in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers. Lewis is 5-for-8 over the last two games, and he also picked up his first steal of the season Monday. This may be the spark the third baseman needs to get things going again, though he's been fairly steady by batting .294 (15-for-51) since returning from a hamstring injury at the start of July. He's up to a .233/.293/.360 slash line with four home runs, 15 RBI and 16 runs scored across 45 contests this year.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Delivers first career two-homer day

Lewis went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Rockies. Lewis took full advantage of the Colorado air, mashing a pair of home runs Sunday -- a 451-foot blast in the fourth inning followed by another solo shot in the eighth. It marked the first multi-homer game of his career and his first long balls since returning from the injured list July 1. The 26-year-old had shown limited impact at the plate prior to this outburst but is now 12-for-47 (.255) with four extra-base hits over 14 games since his return. With Lewis' power stroke starting to resurface, he may be finding his rhythm just in time for a strong second half.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Getting rest Wednesday

Lewis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. After a two-plus-week stay on the injured list while recovering from a hamstring injury, Lewis made his return to the Minnesota lineup Tuesday, starting at third base while going 1-for-3 with a double in a 2-0 loss. At least for his first handful of games back from the IL, Lewis will have his workload managed, so he'll be given a breather Wednesday. Lewis' absence opens up a spot in the lineup for Harrison Bader, who will pick up a start in the outfield while utility man Willi Castro shifts back to the infield.

  • Twins' Royce Lewis: Cleared to begin rehab assignment

Lewis (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Lewis was cleared to play in rehab games after running the bases without issue Thursday. The third baseman is eligible to be activated from the 10-day injured list at any time, but it's not clear how many rehab games the Twins will ask him to play.
