Crismatt is not on the Padres' 26-man wild-card roster. Crismatt was called up from Triple-A El Paso to pitch as a part of Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Giants, pitching four innings while allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts. He will not be included on the initial postseason roster, though his 2.94 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 67.1 innings this year could garner him a shot if the team advances to the next round of the playoffs.... Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Back with big club
The Padres recalled Crismatt from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday. Crismatt will be joining the 28-man active roster as a replacement for Mike Clevinger (illness), who was scheduled to start Wednesday's regular-season finale versus the Giants before his surprise placement on the injured list. Craig Stammen is now scheduled to start Wednesday, but he's unlikely to work much longer than two innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. Crismatt could be one of multiple relievers who sees work once Stammen exits.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Moves to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Crismatt to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday. San Diego will swap Crismatt out of its bullpen for right-hander Craig Stammen (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in advance of the team's series finale with the Dodgers. Crismatt's demotion comes after he had lost out on high-leverage work for the past month; he logged no holds and posted a 4.41 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 16.1 innings over his 13 relief appearances since the beginning of August.... Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Secures fifth hold
Crismatt earned a hold against Minnesota on Sunday by striking out two batters over a perfect inning. After Padres starter Sean Manaea completed six effective innings, Crismatt was brought in to protect a one-run lead. The righty reliever was excellent in the outing, throwing 11 of 13 pitches for strikes and fanning the final two batters he faced. Crismatt has notched a hold in three of his past five appearances and has thrown 4.2 scoreless innings over that span. He appears to be moving up in the bullpen pecking order after posting only one hold in 26 outings prior to July.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Notches fifth victory
Crismatt (5-1) earned the win over the Giants on Thursday, striking out three batters and issuing one walk in a scoreless inning. After closer Taylor Rogers blew his save opportunity in the ninth, Crismatt was brought in to hold off San Francisco in the top of the 10th. The right-hander struck out the first two batters he faced, then issued an intentional walk to Joc Pederson before finishing the frame with another strikeout. Crismatt was credited with the win as a result of Jorge Alfaro's walk-off double in the bottom of the frame. The third-year reliever has become a reliable piece in the Padres' bullpen this season, posting a 1.83 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB over 39.1 innings. In addition to his five wins, he's also recorded a pair of holds.... See More ... See Less -

Crismatt relieved starter Yu Darvish with the Padres up by two runs in the seventh inning. The right-hander gave up a walk and a single to the first two batters he faced before serving up a three-run homer to Kyle Schwarber that gave the Phillies the lead. Crismatt rebounded to retire the next three hitters, but the damage was already done, and he ended up with his first loss of the campaign. Before Sunday's disappointing outing, Crismatt had been dominant in June, logging 11.2 scoreless innings over 10 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Earns win Friday
Crismatt (4-0) was credited with the win against the Phillies on Friday. He pitched two perfect innings and struck out one batter. Padres starter MacKenzie Gore tossed five scoreless innings for San Diego, but he was lifted after 97 pitches. Crismatt then took over and threw 26 pitches (17 of which were strikes) over his two frames, and he became the pitcher of record when the Padres scored the game's lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning. The right-hander has been outstanding in his third big-league season, posting a 1.27 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 27:10 K:BB over 35.1 frames.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Earns second win
Crismatt (2-0) earned the win in relief against Atlanta on Sunday, pitching two scoreless innings and notching four strikeouts while allowing one hit. The Padres and Braves were tied 3-3 in the ninth inning when Crismatt entered, and he helped send the game into extra frames by striking out all three batters he faced. The right-hander stuck around for the 10th and again kept the Braves off the scoreboard, and he was credited with a well-deserved win as a result of San Diego tallying four runs in the 11th. Crismatt has been one of the team's best relievers this season, posting a 1.42 ERA and 0.89 WHIP across 19 innings. After walking eight batters across his first 11.2 frames, he hasn't issued a free pass in any of his past four appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Padres' Nabil Crismatt: Impresses in spot start
Crismatt started Sunday's 10-5 victory over Arizona, allowing one hit and three walks with four strikeouts across three scoreless innings in a no-decision. Crismat was pressed into starting duty after Blake Snell was a late scratch and performed well despite the free passes, as the game was in hand for San Diego relatively early. The 27-year-old appeared in 45 games last season and pitched well enough with a 3.76 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 81.1 innings, though his 3:1 K:BB was uninspiring.... See More ... See Less -

Crismatt finished his first campaign in San Diego with a 3.76 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 71:24 K:BB across 81.1 innings. Crismatt (3-1) allowed three hits and one walk while striking out one across four scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Giants. Crismatt followed Pierce Johnson into the game and served as a bulk reliever. Though he's spent much of the season shuttling between Triple-A El Paso and the big-league club, Crismatt has stayed in San Diego consistently since Aug. 12. In 11 appearances since, he's maintained a 0.98 ERA and 0.81 WHIP to go along with a 18:3 K:BB across 18.1 innings.... See More ... See Less -

The Padres recalled Crismatt from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday. Crismatt pitched two innings against the Cubs on Tuesday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one. He did not factor in the decision.
