  • Marlins' Joe Mack: Looking good at Triple-A

Mack sports a .270/.372/.486 slash line with two doubles and two homers in 10 games since his promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville. The 22-year-old catching prospect began the season at Double-A Pensacola to get everyday playing time while Agustin Ramirez handled duties behind the plate at Jacksonville, but Ramirez's promotion to the majors allowed Mack to rise a level as well. The 31st overall pick in the 2021 First-Year Player Draft is also drawing good grades for his defense, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. "He's getting off great throws", catching coach Joe Singley said Sunday. "Defensively he's great, and he's doing a great job working with the pitching staff and the coaching staff [in Jacksonville]." Having Ramirez ahead of him in the pipeline blocks his path, not to mention the presence of Nick Fortes and Liam Hicks on the big-league roster, but Mack could be ready to push for a spot with the Marlins in spring training next year.

  • Marlins' Joe Mack: Overcomes hamstring strain

Mack (hamstring) has gone 3-for-15 with 10 walks, two RBI and two runs in six games since being reinstated from Single-A Jupiter's 7-day injured list July 22. Mack was on the shelf for nearly two months due to the hamstring strain before returning to action for the Marlins' Single-A affiliate. The 19-year-old catching prospect has shown a hyper-patient approach at the plate since being activated, and his combination of high on-base percentages and burgeoning pop could make him an interesting fantasy option down the road, especially if he's able to stick behind the plate.

  • Marlins' Joe Mack: Dealing with hamstring strain

Mack is dealing with a hamstring strain and is expected to miss approximately 4-6 weeks, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of El Extrabase reports. Mack has appeared in just four games this year while battling a hamstring issue, and he'll focus on his rehab process after being diagnosed with a strain. The 19-year-old will presumably attempt to return to game action sometime in late July or early August.
