Brewers' Sal Frelick: Returns to Milwaukee lineup
Frelick (knee) will start in right field and bat sixth in Friday's game versus the Rays.
Frelick missed each of the previous three contests with left knee inflammation, but he's feeling well enough to play in Friday's series opener. The outfielder sports a .297/.381/.398 batting line with one homer and five steals over 135 plate appearances in 2025.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Aiming to return Friday
Frelick (knee) hopes to return to the Brewers lineup Friday in Tampa Bay, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Frelick is dealing with left knee inflammation and has been ruled out for the remainder of the Brewers' series against the Astros that runs through Wednesday. Milwaukee has a team off day Thursday, which will allow Frelick a fourth day of rest before he tries to return to action Friday for the start of the team's road trip.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Out of lineup, but MRI results good
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that the MRI results on Frelick's left knee were encouraging and the injury "should settle down in a day or two," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Frelick had to depart Sunday's game against the Cubs after tweaking the knee and will miss one start, at minimum. However, it appears for now that he will avoid a stint on the 10-day injured list.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Requires MRI for knee injury
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said after Sunday's 4-0 win over the Cubs that Frelick will undergo an MRI on his left knee, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.
Frelick flied out in the second inning and appeared to tweak his knee at one point during the plate appearance. He initially stayed in the game, but the Brewers pulled him from the contest prior to the fourth inning and attributed his early exit to left knee discomfort. The Brewers should have a firmer diagnosis available for Frelick once the results of the MRI are read, but the fact that he required additional testing doesn't seem to bode well for his chances of being available for Monday's series opener versus the Astros.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Leaves with knee injury
Frelick was removed ahead of the fourth inning of Sunday's game against the Cubs due to left knee discomfort. He went 0-for-1 at the plate prior to departing.
Frelick initially appeared to tweak his knee on an awkward swing during his second-inning plate appearance, but he stayed in the game and then played right field in the top of the third inning, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. However, Frelick's knee must not have responded as well as the Brewers had hoped, prompting manager Pat Murphy to replace Frelick with Daz Cameron an inning later. The Brewers should provide an update on the extent of Frelick's injury after the game, but for the time being, he can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Astros.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Swats first homer of 2025
Frelick went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Tigers.
The 24-year-old outfielder took Keider Montero deep in the sixth inning for a solo shot, and the afternoon's final run, as he drove a changeup up in the zone 408 feet to right-center field. It was Frelick's first long ball of the season, but he's had an impressive beginning to the campaign without big-time power, slashing .318/.408/.455 through 19 games with five steals, six RBI and 11 runs.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Steals fifth bag
Frelick went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.
Frelick began his day with a triple in the second inning and crossed home shortly thereafter. He reached again in the sixth and stole his fifth base of the year, which pushed him ahead of Brice Turang for the team lead. Frelick also leads the club with a .403 on-base percentage to complement his .306 batting average through 72 plate appearances.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Swipes fourth bag
Frelick went 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
The 24-year-old outfielder has collected at least one hit in seven straight starts, continuing a hot start to the season that has seen Frelick produce a .340/.411/.420 slash line with four steals, five RBI and seven runs in 56 plate appearances. He's still not hitting the ball with much authority -- he has yet to record a barrel this season, and his ninth percentile hard-hit rate is actually an improvement on 2024 -- but Frelick's contact skills and speed have him on track to shatter the career-high 18 stolen bases he collected last year.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Grabbing seat Thursday
Frelick is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Colorado.
It's the first day off this season after Frelick had started each of the Brewers' first 12 contests. Jackson Chourio will slide over to right field for Milwaukee on Thursday, while Christian Yelich receives a start in left field and William Contreras handles designated-hitter duties.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Four hits in loss
Frelick went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 11-7 loss to the Reds.
Frelick served as the catalyst for Milwaukee's offense Saturday, picking up his first two extra-base hits of the season. The 24-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a nice start overall this year, going 13-for-33 (.394) with a pair of stolen bases in his first nine games.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Checks back in lineup
Frelick (calf) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Monday's Cactus League game against the Rockies.
Frelick hadn't played since last Tuesday due to a sore left calf, but his inclusion in the lineup and his ability to occupy a spot in the outfield in the spring finale suggests he'll be ready to go for Thursday's season opener versus the Yankees. Though Frelick is batting cleanup Monday, Willson Contreras and Brice Turang (shoulder) are getting the day off, so Frelick could bump down a spot or two in the Opening Day lineup.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Managing calf soreness
Frelick is out of Milwaukee's spring lineup again Sunday due to minor calf soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The 24-year-old hasn't seen Cactus League action in a few days due to the injury, though he's still been hitting in a batting cage. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, and Frelick will have a few more days to rest up ahead of Thursday's Opening Day matchup with the Yankees.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Adds 25 pounds of muscle
Frelick added 25 pounds of muscle over the offseason, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Frelick clubbed only two home runs over 524 regular-season plate appearances last season and his 83.4 mph average exit velocity was the lowest in baseball. The 24-year-old stole 18 bases in 2024 and his elite glove should keep him in the lineup, but his appeal in fantasy leagues will remain limited unless he can add some thump, which he hopes the strength he added will help him accomplish.
