Brewers' Jamie Westbrook: Finds new organization
Westbrook signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Monday. Westbrook didn't play in 2020 after the minor-league season was cancelled, but the 25-year-old will attempt to revive his baseball career in 2021 with a new organization. Before attending spring training in 2020 with the Giants and being released in the summer, Westbrook had played exclusively in Arizona's organization. He split time between Triple-A Reno and Double-A Jackson in 2019, slashing .281/.358/.451 across 448 at-bats.... See More ... See Less -
Jamie Westbrook: Let go by Giants
Westbrook was released by the Giants on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Diamondbacks' Jamie Westbrook: Holding his own at Double-A
Westbrook, 20, is slashing .294/.353/.399 with two home runs, 15 RBI and three steals in 41 games for Double-A Mobile. The toolsy Westbrook has not been overwhelmed at this level despite his young age. He has been particularly hot lately, batting a scalding .474 with two home runs and 10 RBI over his last 10 games. He's small and has questionable defensive skills, but should still be on the prospect radar right now.... See More ... See Less
