Schwarber went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a solo home run during Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Rockies. Schwarber notched his first multi-homer game of the season -- a feat he accomplished three times in the 2023 regular season -- with the solo homer coming off Ryan Feltner in the first inning and the two-run shot coming at the expense of Peter Lambert in the sixth. The performance came on the heels of three straight games without a hit (0-for-11), pushing Schwarber out of the mini-slump.... See More ... See Less

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Career day against lefties
Schwarber went 3-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Pirates. Incredibly, all five of his plate appearances came against southpaws, marking the first time in his career that Schwarber had reached base five times in the same game against same-handed pitching. Per Paul Casella of MLB.com, he's only the third left-handed batter in the last eight years to accomplish that platoon-defying feat, joining Juan Soto and Anthony Rizzo. Schwarber has had a solid start to the season, slashing .259/.358/.414 through 15 games with three homers, a steal, six RBI and 11 runs.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Collects two RBI
Schwarber went 1-for-3 with two walks and two RBI in Friday's win over the Nationals. Schwarber tallied the Phillies' second and third runs of the game when he smoked a 103.0 mph single off lefty Patrick Corbin. The 31-year-old designated hitter has been much improved against left-handed pitching to open 2024, going 7-for-16 with a homer, three RBI and two walks.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Slugs second homer
Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Reds. The lefty slugger took Frankie Montas deep to lead off the sixth inning, but it was all the offense the Phillies could muster in a game delayed by nearly seven hours due to rain. Schwarber has a five-game hitting streak going, and he's begun the campaign batting .280 (7-for-25) with two homers, three RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Socks first home run
Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a home run and two total runs in Sunday's win over Atlanta. Schwarber occupied his typical leadoff spot Sunday and opened the Phillies offense's afternoon with a 382-foot home run on Chris Sale's second pitch. The homer was an encouraging development for Schwarber after he batted only .188 against left-handed pitching last year. He and the Phillies lineup have a much easier week coming up with series against the Reds and Nationals.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Back in action Thursday
Schwarber (groin) will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter and leadoff batter in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Red Sox. Just as manager Rob Thomson suggested would be the case, Schwarber will return to the lineup one day after being scratched from the starting nine due to right groin tightness. Schwarber has now made six starts as a designated hitter and four in left field through 10 Grapefruit League games, but he's expected to see an even larger share of his playing time in the non-defensive role during the regular season.... Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Expected back Thursday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said he expects Schwarber (groin) to return to the Grapefruit League lineup Thursday versus the Red Sox, Jayson Stark of The Athletic reports. Schwarber was a precautionary late scratch from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers after feeling something in his right groin in the weight room, but he's expected to be fine. The designated hitter has had a rough spring so far, going 2-for-24 with 11 strikeouts.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Day-to-day with groin tightness
Schwarber was scratched from the Phillies' Grapefruit League lineup Wednesday against the Tigers due to right groin tightness, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. It's not clear when the injury popped up for the slugger, but the Phillies are referring to him as day-to-day. Schwarber had been slated to serve as the designated hitter Wednesday, which is the slot he's expected to occupy most often this season.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Jacks two home runs in win
Schwarber went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs, a walk and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Diamondbacks in Game 2 of the NLCS. Schwarber officially has a streak going, hitting home runs in back-to-back games. Tuesday's deep shots came off Merrill Kelly in the third and sixth innings as Schwarber took advantage of a few poorly located pitches down the plate. Power is nothing new to the left-hander, who finished second in home runs in the regular season with 47 in 160 games. Schwarber is now slashing .219/.286/.563 this postseason with five runs, four RBI and three home runs in 32 at-bats.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Slugs home run in loss
Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Pirates. Schwarber got the scoring going early with his long ball in the first inning, but it ultimately would not spark any momentum for the team. As of the end of Thursday's game, the left-handed slugger was tied with Pete Alonso for second-best in home runs with 46 on the season. This year, he has put together a .197/.344/.473 line in 157 games while eclipsing the century mark in both runs and RBI, with 107 and 101, respectively.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Not starting Wednesday
Schwarber is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus Pittsburgh. Schwarber will head to the bench for the first time since Aug. 9 after the Phillies punched their ticket to the playoffs with Tuesday's victory. The veteran slugger has clubbed 45 homers but is still hitting just .196 this season, though he slashed .230/.395/.566 during the run of 42 consecutive starts.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Hot streak continues
Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Marlins. The slugger capped a five-run second inning for the Phillies by crushing a Johnny Cueto fastball deep to center field. Schwarber has 42 homers on the season, four back of the career high he set in 2022, and he's also one RBI short of matching the career-best 94 he tallied last year. He's been absolutely locked in over the last few weeks -- in his last 20 games, he's slashing .296/.474/.845 with 12 home runs, 19 RBI and 22 runs.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Homers again Wednesday
Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a second run scored in Wednesday's victory over the Padres. Schwarber got the Phillies started in the first inning with a 465-foot blast off Michael Wacha, his 41st homer of the year. It's Schwarber's 11th long ball in his last 18 games -- he's batting .302 (19-for-63) with a 1.361 OPS in that span. While he's still batting just .195 on the campaign, Schwarber's OPS is up to .820 through 623 plate appearances with 92 runs scored and 90 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Hits homer No. 40
Schwarber went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, three total runs and three walks in Monday's 9-7 victory versus San Diego. Schwarber reached base five times in the contest, the second time he's accomplished that this season. He accounted for the Phillies' final run with his solo shot to right field in the fifth inning. The long ball was Schwarber's 40th of the campaign, the fourth-highest figure in the majors. This is the second straight season that the slugger has reached the 40-homer mark -- he swatted a career-high 46 home runs last year.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Homers, doubles in win
Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's victory over St. Louis. Schwarber's double in the second inning gave the Phillies the lead, while his homer in the seventh provided some insurance runs. He's now hit safely in six of his last seven games, reaching base 16 times (eight hits and eight walks) in 34 plate appearances with five home runs, nine RBI and nine runs scored over that time frame. On the year, while Schwarber is on pace to reach 40 homers, 100 RBI and 100 runs scored, he's also hitting just .187 with 165 strikeouts in 465 at-bats.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Homers Wednesday
Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Giants. Schwarber got the Phillies on the board in the sixth inning with a home run off Alex Cobb, his 34th of the season. The 30-year-old Schwarber has four long balls in his last six games, going 6-for-21 (.286) in that span. He's still batting just .184 on the season, though his OPS is now up to .772 with 81 RBI and 79 runs scored through 567 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Goes yard twice in loss
Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Nationals. He took Joan Adon deep in the fourth inning for a two-run blast before giving the Phillies a spark of hope in the ninth with a solo shot off Kyle Finnegan, but his teammates couldn't complete the comeback. Schwarber is sticking to his usual Three True Outcomes formula in August, slashing .185/.348/.463 through 15 games with five homers, 11 runs and 12 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Starting Saturday
Schwarber (foot) is starting in left field and batting in the leadoff spot Saturday against the Twins. Schwarber was taken out of the Phillies' game Friday after fouling a ball off his left foot, but it won't force him to miss any time. The 30-year-old slugger hasn't been able to collect hits very efficiently this season, but he has gone 7-for-16 with three homers across his last five games.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Will be re-evaluated Saturday
Schwarber is dealing with a left foot contusion and will be re-evaluated Saturday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Schwarber was lifted from Friday's blowout win over the Twins after fouling a ball off his foot. All indications are that it was a precautionary removal, but Schwarber is sore and will be looked at again Saturday before the Phillies decide whether he can play.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Exits after fouling ball off foot
Schwarber was removed from Friday's game versus the Twins after fouling a ball off his left foot, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports. The Phillies were up nine runs at the time of his removal, so this could be nothing more than a precautionary move. Consider him day-to-day. Schwarber reached base in all four of his plate appearances Friday, singling twice and walking twice while driving in one run and scoring two, before exiting.... See More ... See Less
