D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins. D'Arnaud will receive a routine breather for the series finale after he started behind the plate Friday and Saturday while going 2-for-7 with a double. Chadwick Tromp will handle catching duties Sunday.... See More ... See Less

Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Resting Thursday
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets. D'Arnaud will effectively get two straight rest days; Wednesday's game was postponed, and he'll now hit the bench for Thursday's series finale while Chadwick Tromp draws the start behind the plate. While Sean Murphy (oblique) remains on the 10-day injured list, d'Arnaud should continue to see the bulk of the starts at catcher.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Sitting Tuesday
D'Arnaud isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Tuesday's game versus the White Sox, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. D'Arnaud has rotated starts with Chadwick Tromp since Sean Murphy (oblique) landed on the injured list. Tuesday will mark Tromp's turn to start behind the plate, and he will bat ninth while d'Arnaud rests.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Not in lineup Sunday
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Philadelphia. The 35-year-old is now operating as Atlanta's No. 1 catcher after Sean Murphy suffered an oblique strain Opening Day, but d'Arnaud will take a seat for Sunday afternoon's season finale. Chadwick Tromp will step in behind the plate for Atlanta.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Swats first XBH of spring
D'Arnaud went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles. The veteran backstop has had a solid start to his spring, batting .333 (5-for-15) through seven games, but Wednesday's double was his first extra-base hit. With Sean Murphy locked into the starting role behind the plate and Marcell Ozuna an everyday designated hitter, d'Arnaud could see his workload decline a bit further this season -- he went from 426 plate appearances in 2022 to 292 in 2023. Atlanta also signed Adam Duvall to bolster its outfield, likely further locking in Ozuna as a DH.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Getting second straight start
D'Arnaud is starting at catcher and batting sixth Wednesday in Game 3 of the NLDS versus the Phillies, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. D'Arnaud receives a second straight start after slugging a two-run home run in Atlanta's comeback victory in Game 2. Sean Murphy will begin this one on the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Starting Game 2 at catcher
D'Arnaud will start at catcher and bat sixth Monday in Game 2 of the NLDS versus the Phillies. Sean Murphy got the call behind the dish in the Game 1 loss, but Atlanta will turn to d'Arnaud in Game 2 as they look to even the series. For what it's worth, d'Arnaud is 8-for-21 with one home run in 23 career plate appearances against Philadelphia's Game 2 starter, Zack Wheeler.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Goes deep in win
D'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Cardinals in an 8-5 win Thursday. Atlanta hit five homers in the contest, with d'Arnaud's two-run blast in the seventh inning being the only one that wasn't a solo shot. The long ball was the backstop's second in three games following a stretch of 17 contests during which he batted just .190 without leaving the park. D'Arnaud has 11 home runs on the season, reaching double digits in that category for the sixth time in 11 major-league campaigns.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Opens scoring with homer
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Dodgers. The catcher snapped a 17-game homer drought dating back to July 23 during which he hit a meager .190 with five doubles and nine RBI. For the season, d'Arnaud is up to a .246/.304/.441 slash line with 10 long balls, 34 RBI, 28 runs scored and 11 doubles through 58 contests while splitting time behind the plate with Sean Murphy.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Three doubles in comeback win
D'Arnaud went 3-for-5 with three doubles and two RBI in Tuesday's 8-6 win over the Pirates. His third two-bagger of the night was the biggest, as d'Arnaud ripped a curveball from Pittsburgh closer David Bednar into left field to kick-start a three-run rally for Atlanta that erased a 6-5 deficit. The veteran catcher had been scuffling at the plate lately, and even after Tuesday's performance he's batting just .220 (11-for-50) since the beginning of July, but eight of those 11 hits -- five doubles and three homers -- have gone for extra bases and he's racked up 10 RBI.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Clubs ninth homer
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 4-2 win over Milwaukee. D'Arnaud's second-inning blast was his first hit since the All-Star break -- he'd gone 0-for-9 across his last three contests. The catcher logged multiple extra base-hits for the second time this season. He's slashing a solid .264/.333/.493 with nine homers, 24 RBI, 20 runs scored and six doubles through 159 plate appearances. While he's limited to a backup role behind Sean Murphy, d'Arnaud's numbers are enough to help in NL-only and two-catcher fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Signs deal for '24
D'Arnaud signed a one-year, $8 million contract with Atlanta on Tuesday. The deal also includes an $8 million club option for 2025 with no buyout. The 34-year-old backstop has seen a drop in playing time since the arrival of Sean Murphy, but d'Arnaud has made the most of his opportunities with a .265/.338/.478 slash line through 151 plate appearances this season.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Belts eighth homer
D'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Rays. The veteran catcher made franchise history when he took Zach Eflin deep in the fourth inning, as it marked the 26th straight game in which Atlanta batters had hit at least one homer -- a new record. D'Arnaud heads into the All-Star break with eight homers on the season, including four in his last seven starts, but his playing time remains erratic behind Sean Murphy at catcher and Marcell Ozuna at DH.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Salvages day with late homer
D'Arnaud went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Marlins. After going 0-for-2 with a walk in his first three plate appearances, d'Arnaud came through for fantasy managers in the eighth inning by clubbing a two-run homer off Andrew Nardi. The long ball was his seventh of the campaign and his fifth in his last 10 games. Through 34 appearances, d'Arnaud is slashing .279/.358/.492 while striking out at an 18.2 percent clip.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Returns to bench
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds. The 34-year-old started the past five games with Sean Murphy (hamstring) banged up and went 6-for-10 with two homers the past two days, but Murphy will rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale in Cincinnati. D'Arnaud has an .839 OPS this year but will now revert back to a secondary role since Murphy is healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Goes deep in four-hit game
D'Arnaud went 4-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-6 win against Cincinnati. The second-through-fifth hitters in Atlanta's lineup each had multiple hits, and d'Arnaud led the charge with four knocks, including a second-inning solo shot that opened the scoring. It was the second four-hit game of the campaign for the backstop, with the other coming March 30 against Washington. D'Arnaud has started at catcher in five straight games while Sean Murphy (hamstring) has been on the shelf, and he's batted .333 (7-for-21) with two homers and four RBI over that span.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Goes yard twice in rout
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 8-1 win over the Rockies. He took Dinelson Lamet deep for a two-run shot in the first inning and then did it again in the third, giving d'Arnaud the 100th and 101st homers of his career. The 34-year-old backstop has four homers and 14 RBI in 25 games this season, with three of those long balls coming in his last five starts, and his .281/.340/.461 slash line has him on pace for his highst OPS since he rang up a career-best .919 mark in 2020.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Enjoys big offensive performance
D'Arnaud went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, four total runs and two walks in Thursday's 13-10 extra-inning win over the Mets. The veteran backstop hit one of five long balls for Atlanta in the contest, contributing to the team's comeback with a two-run shot in the eighth inning. The multi-hit effort was d'Arnaud's fifth in 20 games this season. He is the clear No. 2 option behind Sean Murphy on the catcher depth chart but has still provided plenty of offense, slashing .303/.346/.434 with two homers, 10 RBI and 10 runs over 81 plate appearances.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Slugs first homer of 2023
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Mariners. He took George Kirby deep in the sixth inning to cap the scoring for Atlanta. D'Arnaud missed over a month due to a concussion and has only played 13 games so far this season, but the 34-year-old has been plenty productive, slashing .314/.340/.431 with one homer, four runs and six RBI.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Absent from lineup Tuesday
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers. Sean Murphy is catching and batting third, with Eddie Rosario filling the DH role and hitting fifth. D'Arnaud has gone 2-for-10 with zero extra-base hits and four strikeouts since returning last week from the concussion IL.... See More ... See Less
