D'Arnaud went 0-for-3 in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Phillies. The veteran catcher has gone just 3-for-17 (.176) this spring with only one extra-base hit, a double, but his 1:2 BB:K shows there's little cause for concern. The offseason addition of Sean Murphy pushes d'Arnaud into a backup role this year, but he should also see some action at DH after slugging 18 homers and posting a .791 OPS over 107 games in 2022, especially if Marcell Ozuna's struggles continue.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Resting in series finale
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners. D'Arnaud will get a breather after catching in each of the past three games, giving way to William Contreras behind the dish. Though Atlanta previously had room for both players in the lineup, Contreras has been sitting out on a more frequent basis with outfielder Ronald Acuna having been limited exclusively to designated-hitter duties since returning to the lineup Aug. 31 following a three-game absence due to a sore knee.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Takes seat Tuesday
D'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the A's. D'Arnaud posted a 1.145 OPS over his last eight games, but manager Brian Snitker wanted to get fellow backstop William Contreras a start with Ronald Acuna holding down the designated hitter spot, so d'Arnaud will open Tuesday's contest on the bench.... Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Heads to bench
D'Arnaud will sit Saturday against the Marlins. D'Arnaud homered twice in Friday's series opener, giving him 16 for the year, but his reward is a trip to the bench. D'Arnaud's three-run blast off Jordan Montgomery -- his 14th long ball of the season -- broke a 0-0 stalemate in the fourth inning. The hot hitting of both d'Arnaud and William Contreras in recent games has prompted manager Brian Snitker to clear regular room in the lineup for the two backstops, with Eddie Rosario and Marcell Ozuna losing out on starts out of the designated-hitter spot as a result. Contreras will serve as the team's DH for a third consecutive game in Sunday's series finale, while d'Arnaud starts behind the plate and bats cleanup.... See More ... See Less -

Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Won't return until Monday
D'Arnaud (lower leg) isn't expected to return until Monday at the earliest, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
