Miguel Tejada has agreed to deal with Orioles

Miguel Tejada and the Orioles just can't quit each other. Tejada, 37, has an agreement in place to sign with the Orioles, pending a physical. Assuming his Monday physical is passed, he'll begin extended spring training in Sarasota, Florida immediately.

Miguel Tejada and the Orioles just can't quit each other. Tejada, 37, has an agreement in place to sign with the Orioles, pending a physical, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman has learned. Assuming his Monday physical is passed, he'll begin extended spring training in Sarasota, Florida immediately.

This will be Tejada's third different stint with the Orioles. He signed as a free agent with Baltimore after the 2003 season. Then, after a short stint with the Astros, Tejada signed with the Orioles again following the 2009 season. So he's been signed by the Orioles three times -- including this one -- and also traded away twice.

Some of Tejada's best seasons were with the Orioles, including 2004, when he hit .311/.360/.534 with 40 doubles, 34 homers, 107 runs and 150 RBI.

At this point in the six-time All-Star's career, however, he's just a depth signing. Last season, Tejada hit .239/.270/.326 with four homers, 28 runs and 26 RBI in 91 games for the Giants.

Tejada could be of help to the Orioles down the road as depth in the 3B/DH areas, alongside Mark Reynolds, Wilson Betemit et al.
