The Houston Astros have declined their $4-million option on catcher Chris Snyder, who will instead receive a $500,000 buyout.

Snyder, who turns 32 years old in February, hit .176/.295/.308 with seven home runs in 258 plate appearances this season for the Astros, his third major-league team.
