Just one event separates LIV Golf from its postseason. LIV Golf Greenbrier will serve as the precursor for its individual championship next month in Chicago and its team championship the following week in Dallas. With eyes on positioning, it should come as no surprise that this trip to Greenbrier is a rather large one for former world No. 1 Jon Rahm.
Arriving in West Virginia fresh off his back-nine collapse at the 2024 Paris Olympics -- where he held a four-stroke lead for the gold medal and ultimately came away empty handed -- the Spaniard seeks to get right back on the horse. A winner at LIV Golf UK his last time out on the home circuit, Rahm runs second to Joaquin Niemann in the individual standings and just ahead of his Legion XIII teammate, Tyrrell Hatton.
Legion XIII also occupies the second spot in the team standings where it hopes to track down Bryson DeChambeau's Crushers. Rahm's team holds the most trophies with four, but a lack of consistency throughout the season has made it so it is looking up at the U.S. Open winner and his team.
Another former U.S. Open champion, Brooks Koepka, welcomes John Catlin to his team as Graeme McDowell was suspended due to using a banned substance (Vick's nasal decongestant). Dustin Johnson's 4 Aces have endured a forgettable campaign with only one top-five finish and find themselves all way down to 10th in the season-long race.
Cameron Smith, Louis Oosthuizen and Sergio Garcia round out the captains of contending squads looking to make the most of their LIV Golf Greenbrier experience and shorten the gap between them and the top stars.
