Mike Scifres: Cut by Panthers

Scifres (knee) was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Scifres suffered a knee injury during the Panthers' third preseason game against the Patriots. Veteran Andy Lee heads into the regular season as the starting punter for Carolina.
