UVA vs. GT updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Virginia vs. Georgia Tech football game
Through 3 Quarters
The Virginia Cavaliers were expected to win this one, and they are just one quarter away from fulfilling that expectation. After three quarters it's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as the Cavaliers lead 41-24.
QB Brennan Armstrong has led the way so far for Virginia, as he has passed for three TDs and 356 yards on 38 attempts in addition to rushing for two TDs and 99 yards. Georgia Tech has been riding high on the performance of RB Jahmyr Gibbs, who has rushed for one TD and 131 yards on 11 carries. That touchdown -- a 71-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the game.
This is tied with the most points Virginia has had yet this year going into the fourth quarter.

What to Know
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. The Yellow Jackets and the Virginia Cavaliers will face off in an ACC battle at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Georgia Tech beat the Duke Blue Devils 31-27 two weeks ago. It was another big night for Georgia Tech's QB Jeff Sims, who passed for three TDs and 297 yards on 25 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 55 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Sims' 77-yard TD bomb to RB Jahmyr Gibbs in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, Virginia got themselves on the board against Duke last week, but Duke never followed suit. The Cavaliers steamrolled past the Blue Devils 48 to nothing at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34 to nothing. QB Brennan Armstrong continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, passing for two TDs and 364 yards on 45 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 34 yards.
Virginia's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected two interceptions and three fumbles. The picks came courtesy of S Joey Blount and S De'Vante Cross.
The Yellow Jackets are expected to lose this next one by 6.5. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past two games, so buyers beware.
Georgia Tech is now 3-3 while Virginia sits at 5-2. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Georgia Tech is 197th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 11 on the season. The Cavaliers are completely their equal: they are stumbling into the matchup with the 197th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 11 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
