UCF vs. Georgia Tech updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UCF vs. Georgia Tech football game
3rd Quarter Report
A win for Georgia Tech would push their record over .500, and after three quarters of play they've put themselves in a good position to make it happen. A win is still up for grabs for either team after three quarters, but Georgia Tech is up 20-17 over UCF.
Georgia Tech came into the game with some extra motivation after the defeat they were dealt the last time these two teams faced off. We'll see if they're able to flip the script or if it'll just be more of the same.
Preview
The UCF Knights and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will square off in the Gasparilla Bowl at Raymond James Stadium 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday. Georgia Tech took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on UCF, who comes in off a win.
UCF has more to be thankful for after their game against Houston back in November. UCF enjoyed a cozy 27-13 victory over Houston.
John Rhys Plumlee and RJ Harvey were among the main playmakers for UCF as the former threw for 253 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.2% of his passes and the latter rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Kobe Hudson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 98 receiving yards.
UCF's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Houston's QB won't forget Jason Johnson anytime soon given Johnson sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech scored first but ultimately less than Georgia in their game back in November. They fell 31-23 to the Bulldogs. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Georgia Tech in their matchups with Georgia: they've now lost six in a row.
UCF is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Georgia Tech, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-6.
UCF is hoping to beat the odds on Friday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. Bettors picking them against the spread have some confidence (to put it mildly), as the team is sitting on a five-game streak of failing to cover when expected to win.
UCF strolled past Georgia Tech in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 by a score of 27-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for UCF since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
