Oregon vs. Washington State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oregon vs. Washington State football game
If the oddsmakers' predictions hold true, the near future looks bright for Oregon. The Oregon Ducks and the Washington State Cougars will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. Oregon will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Two of the premier teams in all of college football squared off on Saturday, but Oregon was not quite premier enough. They fell just short of Washington by a score of 36-33. The loss was Oregon's first of the season.
Despite their loss, Oregon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bo Nix, who threw for 337 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Bucky Irving, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Washington State last Saturday, but the final result did not. They were dealt a punishing 44-6 loss at the hands of Arizona. Washington State has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Cougars had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 234 total yards. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as Arizona gained 516.
The losses dropped Oregon to 5-1 and Washington State to 4-2.
In addition to losing their last games, the two teams failed to cover the spread. As mentioned, Oregon is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 20 points. They might be worth a quick bet since they've sitting on a five game streak of covering the spread when expected to win.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Oregon and Washington State haven't had much trouble getting there this season. The Ducks command a daunting offense this season, having averaged 6.3 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like the Cougars struggle in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Saturday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
