North Carolina State will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. North Carolina State is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Saturday, North Carolina State earned a 35-28 victory over Virginia Tech.
North Carolina State can attribute much of their success to Kevin Concepcion, who gained 107 total yards and three touchdowns, and Brennan Armstrong, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, while it was North Carolina who put the first points on the board on Saturday, it was Clemson who put up more. North Carolina fell 31-20 to Clemson. North Carolina has not had much luck with Clemson recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
North Carolina's loss came about despite a quality game from Omarion Hampton, who rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Hampton hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Drake Maye, who threw for 209 yards and a touchdown.
With North Carolina State's victory and North Carolina's defeat, both teams now sport identical 8-3 records.
North Carolina State came out on top in a nail-biter against North Carolina in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, sneaking past 30-27. Does North Carolina State have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Carolina turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
