Buffalo vs. Central Michigan updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Buffalo vs. Central Michigan football game
The Central Michigan Chippewas will head out on the road to face off against the Buffalo Bulls at 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at UB Stadium. Despite being away, Central Michigan is looking at a three-point advantage in the spread.
Last Saturday, Central Michigan narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Eastern Michigan 26-23.
Central Michigan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jase Bauer out in front who threw for 218 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Central Michigan also got a significant boost from Myles Bailey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Buffalo ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Akron out 13-10. After a 45-38 finish the last time they played, Buffalo and Akron decided to play a little more cautiously this time around.
Buffalo's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Red Murdock and his two sacks.
Central Michigan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That strong performance could come from their offensive dominance: across that stretch, they averaged 30 points per game. Buffalo's victory on Saturday bumped their record up to 1-4.
Buffalo is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This contest will be their third straight as the underdogs (a stretch that saw them go 2-1 against the spread).
Central Michigan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Buffalo in their prior recent meeting last November, but they still walked away with a 31-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Michigan since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
