Boise State vs. Utah State score: Broncos pull away late for impressive victory over Aggies
Boise State took down its Mountain West opponent in convincing fashion in Week 4
Mountain West conference play got underway in Week 4 and a noon kickoff between Boise State and Utah State highlighted the slate on CBS. In the end, the Broncos cruised to an effortless 27-3 victory over the Aggies. While both offenses were able to move the ball, mistakes ultimately undid everything Utah State put together. The Aggies had three turnovers and 13 penalties for 99 yards. Additionally, special team errors ended up being costly with one field goal missed and another one blocked.
Boise State has been involved in some close losses early this season, including a pair of heartbreakers against Oklahoma State and UCF. But this was about as good of a game as the Broncos have played under first-year coach Andy Avalos. Quarterback Hank Bachmeier threw for 288 yards on 23-of-40 passing attempts with a pair of touchdowns to one interception. While quick scoring drives were the storyline of the second and third quarters, the Broncos were able to move the ball more methodically in the final 15 minutes, putting together back-to-back scoring drives covering nearly eight minutes to bleed the clock.
CBS Sports was with you the entire way updating this story with the latest as Utah State hosts Boise State.
