Alabama vs. Mississippi State updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Alabama vs. Mississippi State football game
Game Recap
The Alabama Crimson Tide got themselves on the board against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, but MSU never followed suit. Bama claimed a resounding 41 to nothing victory over the Bulldogs at home. That looming 41-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Crimson Tide yet this season.
WR Devonta Smith continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, catching 11 passes for four TDs and 203 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Smith's 53-yard TD reception in the first quarter. Alabama's DB Patrick Surtain II got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the fourth quarter into a touchdown.
The win for Bama kept them a perfect 6-0. MSU is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Bama will have some time to savor their win since their next contest is a little ways off; they will square off against the LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium at 6 p.m. ET in two weeks. The Crimson Tide's defense better steel itself: LSU is averaging 36 points per game. As for the Bulldogs, they will go up against the Vanderbilt Commodores at 4 p.m. ET next Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. Vanderbilt is hoping for a better outcome this game after a 54-21 defeat to the Ole Miss Rebels.
