Some chippiness between New Mexico and Colorado State during their game Saturday kept going after the horn had sounded, spilling outside the arena.

Here's how it happened:

During the Lobos' 84-71 road win New Mexico assistant coaches Terrence Rencher and Chris Harriman were ejected from the game after this play:

After being ejected, the UNM coaches walked past the Rams' bench.

But it didn't stop there.

New Mexico beat writer Geoff Grammer of the Albuquerque Journal posted video of Colorado State player Emmanuel Omogbo's heated exchange with UNM coaches after the game outside the arena that had to be broken up by a Colorado State coach.

According to a report from ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Colorado State coach Larry Eustachy insisted that the fight was instigated by Rencher -- as did Omogbo, the player involved in the exchange.

"After the game, walking out of the athletic center towards home, the same New Mexico coach was standing right outside the door, and we made eye contact, and he smirked at me and said, 'Take that L, boy,' and after that I exploded," Omogbo told ESPN. "After that, both the coach and myself exchanged words back and forth until Coach Larry Eustachy intervened, and I continued walking home."

The Mountain West Conference released a statement after the incident acknowledging the incident and making it aware that a review of the situation was taking place.

"The Mountain West is aware of the situation surrounding the New Mexico at Colorado State men's basketball game played on Saturday afternoon," the statement said. "The conference office has had multiple communications with both institutions and a review is already underway."
