Steph Curry knows a thing or two about catching fire in a Davidson uniform, having been a star for the Wildcats from 2006-2009. On Friday, after Davidson star Jack Gibbs went for 34 points to help upset No. 1 seed Dayton in the Atlantic-10 tournament, he earned a special shoutout on Twitter from the Golden State Warriors guard:

Curry himself had some special moments like Gibbs did Friday, leading the Wildcats to two Big Dance appearances and an Elite Eight run before jumping to the NBA.

The school has fully embraced Curry, who has won back-to-back MVP awards starring for the Warriors, by naming the student section after him, calling it ‘Section 30’. And Curry clearly follows along closely with the happenings of his alma mater at Davidson, which moved one step closer to securing an automatic NCAA Tournament bid with the 73-67 win over No. 1 seed Dayton.
